Well made and just works.
This is a very useful and well made piece of kit for use with the Move Shoot Move Nomad star tracker. I recently upgraded from the first of their star tackers ( several years old now) to the new Nomad. My current camera was much heavier and needed a stronger unit. This Z-plate allows for my 2.7kg camera to sit on top of the ball head on a level field. The quality is superb and it works well. Star tracking now works with my heavier camera.

Gute Fotografie in allen erdenklichen Winkeln
Mfg JMW

Strictly professional. Well thought out. Excellent build quality.
Strictly professional. Well thought out. Excellent build quality. Won't budge when kip handles are tightened down even modestly. No force needed to tighten kip handles so platform is locked down tight. Actual size is deceiving. It's a lot smaller than expected. If it weren't for the kip handles, it couldn't be used for large cameras with wide bases, so it's going to be tricky to tighten down the movement while mounted directly to a larger camera. The rotation is lockable with a lock screw down. The 1/4-20 male mounting screw had a foldable handle, so you don't need a coin or slotted stubby to mount a camera. Bubble level included. Rotation marks on base allow for precise repositioning to same setting again exactly. Very compact in size. Folds flat. Fits inside your shirt pocket. I think at $50, it's $10 overpriced. It would be a bargain at $30. With it's secure lockdown characteristics, it currently beats every reasonable option available on Amazon, but for the possibility of the $230 Edelkrone, which is in a league of its own. When the kip handles are tightened, i couldn't move the platform, so i believe the specs on the weight capacity are credible. Fit and finish are excellent. Only possible improvement might be an option for a larger size platform model so i wouldn't have to risk mangling my knuckles tightening the kip handles underneath my camera.
