Durable yet very effective at absorbing vibrations
I've picked this mat as a pad for desktop PC case (standing on my wooden desk): 11 kg od plastic & metal with 9 fans inside. That's a lot of weight, noise and vibrations and the mat handled them all with ease.Mat is made from some sort of rubber, consisting of many tiny fragments glued/pressed in some way. It's rigid to the point that it's not too easy to cut it to size (thin & very sharp knife is a must) and at the same time it absorbs vibrations even from really heavy objects like full-sized home appliances (washing machine, tumble dryer and so on).So even though 5mm thickness may not be that convincing at the start, it really is enough to get those results. The vibrations are gone and the noise reduces instantly to the very minimum. And what are the downsides of this product? Only minor ones: due to its structure its not easy to get clean cuts on the edges. So they may end up a bit uneven/irregular, depending on the tool you will use. Also, on smoother surfaces (desks, tiled floors...) and lighter objects (<10kg) the mat may be a little slippery - but two sided tape deals with that perfectly. All considered, this product is really well made and delivers impressive results. It turned my computer from annoying junk to silent workstation and I have no doubt I will pick this mat for my future kitchen appliances. Highly recommended!

Partially Absorbing Vibration- Partially happy with this product
The mat does succeed in absorbing vibrations, which is a positive aspect. However, it falls short when it comes to handling a broader range of vibration frequencies. I had hoped for a product that could address a wider spectrum of vibrations, and in that regard, it didn't fully meet my expectations.

BLISS !!
I have a dehumidifier in the bathroom which has a compressor that kicks in when it's in dehumidify mode. The bathroom floor is made of wood and the vibrations from the dehumidifier transfer into the floor, enough to sometimes make the light fitting cover on the kitchen ceiling below vibrate too. I figured that the vibrations were responsible for excess noise so i'd previously placed the dehumidifier variously on a small rubber mat like you find in car footwells as well as a small car footwell carpet. Unfortunately, despite my efforts it didn't solve the excess noise problem and i put up with it for over a year.So the issue is that it's all very noisy. Well, it used to be! I decided to investigate anti-vibrations pads and I came across this product. It's more pricey than some of the other products but based on others' reviews i thought i'd give this a try. I bought the 60cm x 60cm 10mm thick version and cut it up into 4 equal squares to match the dehumidifier footprint and then placed the dehumidifier on 2 of these squares to make the thickness equal 20mm. Bliss! I noticed an almost instant improvement in terms of noise reduction. I have two pieces left over that i'll give away to a friend with the same dehumidifier. The compressor still makes a noise but no longer transfers the vibrations into the floor boards. It's made such a difference that i had to go upstairs a few times on the first day to check that the dehumidifier was still on. I can now leave it on 24 hours a day without it being intrusive whereas before i had to switch it off at night because it was too noisy. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product - it's been a game changer and my only regret is not having bought it months ago before!

Didnt work for me + a TOP TIP!
I have a wooden floor with tiles on top. Even though the washing machine is perfectly level using a spirit level it still bounced and vibrated. Its a new fairly expensive machine so the only reason can be the flooring, which I have heard is the problem in most cases. As I cant change the floor I tried this mat as a last resort. The gap left between the machine and the worktop above is only 1cm so i cold only get the 1cm thick mat, although I doubt any thickness would stop the vibrations. It was a nightmare to install as it doesnt slide along the tiles once the machine is on top and once it was in position the 'give' in the mat made the wobbling even worse, so I removed it again, and threw it down the garden.....thats how I feel about my washine machine issue at the moment.Hopefully it'll work for you, but unfortunatey for me it only made the problem worse.TOP TIP: If you are installing this under your machine which is to be installed under a worktop, cover the floor and the back of the mat in talcum powder. It makes a mess but then it all slides under the worktop beautifully.I have given this a 3* because although it didnt work for me, I would think that it would help if you have a concrete / more solid flooring. I was offered a refund even though I had cut the mat to fit under the worktop as it is slightly longer than it is wide, so no complaints there regarding the company that sold the mat.

Excellent quality & sound reducing
Bought to use under my tumble dryer which is upstairs and apparently kept my neighbours awake if I used it at night. Haven't had a complaint since so assume it's reducing the noise.
