LOL The board books are perfect for him, because unless he cannot easily damage them--unless he makes a determined effort to do so. The books included in this set are "Mater", "Lightning McQueen", "Sally", and "Doc Hudson." Each story is told in the first person, and basically serves as an introduction of the character. For instance, in Doc's book he begins with "Hi, Folks! My name is Doc Hudson, and I'm the doctor and judge in Radiator Springs. I used to be a race car, but after I crashed, the racing world turned its back on me." He then proceeds to tell the story of how he came to live in Radiator Springs and his first meeting with Lightning. The story is really short, only five pages long, so the tale is really just a quick synopsis. The same is true for the other three books. All are written in a simple style, using easy-to-read words, and are beautifully illustrated. I see the product page has the recommended age range as 12 years and up. That must be a mistake. My son is 4 and he's just about outgrown these books. He still reads and enjoys them, but I would not buy them for him at this age. I'd say these books are good for kids 6 months-3 years old.
