I'm not sure what's going on there, but it's simply too tight in an area that I've never had a problem with. I'm bummed about it too, because the shoes look great, offer a ton of cushioning and support, and are pretty much great in every other way. Toes are fine, just the width of the shoe could be a little wider. I have a Torin in 12 and a Lone Peak in 11.5. Both are fine width wise. Apart from the size issues, its my best "work" shoe ever! Comfy and easy to get in and out without untying laces!
