This is an all around great A/C. We bought this during the winter to be prepared for this summer. I highly recommend that as soon as you get it, you check the bottom of the box for damage (we did not do that). When I installed it at the end of May, we found out that the bottom pan had been cracked and was leaking all the water out. Since it was to late to return to Amazon, I had to file a warranty claim with Honeywell. There are a few steps you have to go through, but Honeywell has a great customer service and within a few weeks we had a new A.C delivered. This A/C keeps my 500 sq-ft room nice and cool. When it is in the high 90's, the warmest it has gotten is 72 deg. in the room. By the morning the room is back down to around 63 deg. I will not buy any other brand, just because of how good it works and the great customer service you receive if you have a problem.

No problems, turns itself on and off. Air is cold.

The product is loud and the remote is very hard to use (must be right next to it and press buttons very hard several times). The flap that opens and closes as unit turns on/off does not work at all. The fan also stays on all the time (even after resetting the unit) when on thermostat mode. I either got a lemon or Honeywell has cut quality control a lot. Update: Amazon was great about getting me a new AC unit. The new unit came in and is doing the same thing. I got two lemons consecutively? Does quality control exist? Would rate zero stars if possible.

THIS IS A GREAT FLOOR UNIT !! THIS UNIT IS POWERFUL AND COOLS VERY WELL,EASY SETUP AND VERY WELL MADE,YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED !!!!!

First, the unit does its job and cools extremely well. However, beyond the standard noise, there's a terrible vibration sound that drives me nuts, and if you search online for "honeywell air conditioner vibration sound" you'll find a ton of people who have had the same issue. I previously had an LG one that was great apart from being too weak for my new apartment. It did not have that noise.People report having to return it only to have the replacement with the same issue, other people who are far handier than I am disassemble the case and have to tighten ball bearings and belts inside to fix it. The quality of these units are poor. I survived one year with this after paying $600 and now that the weather is warming up I set it back up and the horrible memories have returned... I'm sorry but it feels cheaply made, when I look inside you can tell someone lazily just shot a glue gun type of thing that was supposed to plug a hole but missed the mark and left a huge mess without bothering to clean it up. Like, this is "cranked off on a line by people who do not care" type of construction. Definitely not recommended, only gave it two stars because it does cool well, which you'd expect from the price and BTUs.

Long story short, I live in central Texas, the power is ALWAYS going out. We had a home gen installed. If the power goes out for hours or days in the summer, I hook this unit up and turn off my main home a/c to save on propane. It is an amazing product. Easy install, easy operation and it sure does get cold. Perfect for the heat we endure here. Highly recommend!

Bought this for my son's apartment. Keeps it nice and cool. Large 'tube' has to be put out the window to work. Easy install though.
