I had rented a car with Android Auto and all I did was connect my phone and then controlled everything from the entertainment unit. So I thought I would get one for my car. This unit says that it is "compatible with Android Auto", but that doesn't mean what you think it means. It will mirror your phone display and if you have Android Auto on the screen it will mirror that. When I connected my phone it said that there weren't any compatible apps and that I had to download an app, which was just a mirroring app. For it to properly work your phone needs to be oriented horizontally so that it displays that way otherwise you get a tiny vertical display on the unit's screen.
