This is a very sturdy 1.25 inch curling iron that heats well and shuts off if you forget to turn it off. I have white/silver hair and use the lowest setting, 300 degrees at all times and have not had any discoloration or yellowing even though I use the curling iron daily. The iron heats up to 450 degrees with 3 additional lower heat settings, 4 in all. My hair is fine, and thinner, medium length and the iron curls in 5 seconds and the curls stay after combing and teasing. On occasion I get a crimp line where the clamp meets the barrel if there is more hair spray on my hair, but it quickly disappears before I comb out my hair. Most times I have no crimp line. The cord swivels nicely, is ample in length, the tip of the barrel is easy to grasp and stays cool while winding the hair on the barrel. It’s not super light and not super heavy so at my elderly age I find this iron very easy to hold and work with. I had a concern with the iron originally and Lanvier customer service was quite responsive, professional and remedied the concern quickly through their e-mail contact. The item was packaged carefully, securely, and the storage bag, which is a very nice, secure fabric that is plenty long to fit the curling iron, and directions were included. Everything about this purchase has been perfect for me. I did not receive any discount, freebie, or reward for providing this honest review. I just really like this curling item (I’ve had many over the years), and will definitely purchase from Lanvier again in the future.

I love this curling iron! I have had a wand for a while, but the clamp ones have such a better curl, so I went for this one and am so happy with it!! It is great quality and works so well! Definitely a bang for your buck! Heats up super fast and barely have to hold the hair on it. I have very thick, dense hair so my curls don't hold very well but sesms to do better with this one!!

This curling iron is not good. It barely lasted 10 months… using it approximately 12 times a month. It will not turn on. And the following trouble shooting advise is a joke. Note: Try these solutions in the following order until your issue is resolved. Before you begin: Press the Power button on your iron to turn it ON. Note: Refer to the user manual for information on the exact location of the Power button, as it may vary by brand or model. Note: Typically, a green LED indicator will glow once your iron is turned ON. Plug your iron into a working power outlet (for iron models with non-detachable power cord) Unplug the power cord of your iron from the power outlet and plug it back. Connect another working device to the same power outlet to confirm that the outlet is working. Plug the power cord of your iron into another working power outlet, if the other device doesn’t work with the original power outlet. Turn ON your iron. So unplug it and plug it back in. Try another outlet. Ridiculous. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I really like this Lanier 1 1/2 inch curling iron! The long barrel makes it so much easier to curl longer hair, and it heats up quickly all the way to 450°. It’s easy to use, glides smoothly through the hair, and gives soft, lasting curls and waves. Overall a great styling tool for the price!

I've tried many curling irons. This is by far the better of them. Long barrel so it gives me that long curl and perfect dimension for a pretty long soft curl. Heats up fast. Only thing that bugs me is the off button is very sensitive and you can turn off easily. I will have to adjust how I hold it as not to accidentally turn it off while using it.

Great curling iron!! I am a hair stylist and in my opinion it works just as good as some of the much more expensive brands!!

This curling iron length is speeding up the time it takes to curl my hair. I can curl larger sections and the whole length of hair at once. It’s a good strong clamp that holds the hair in place. The stand even has a rubber base so it protects my counter.

I like the iron, the extra long barrel is nice for medium to long hair but; I've purchased two of these, first one lasted a couple years, the second one bought less than a year ago, the paint on the barrel is chipping off. I use it 5 to 6 times a week for only about 10 minutes. It's a shame because I like the iron or I wouldn't have purchased it twice. Buying a different brand now. :(

This is such a great curling iron! I am so impressed by how lightweight it is considering how long the barrel is. Super easy to use and great for long hair! I know I will be using this for years to come

Works well. Gets hot very fast. Not a huge fan of the 1.25 barrel vs the 1 but going to keep in case we want a looser curl. Something note worthy, it’s all black, so it’s hard to tell what’s hot and not and accidentally burnt myself a few times

The barrel size is great, makes a nice curl. The highest setting is very hot on hair but good for thicker hair with that. 4 star only because I find the grip of bar is not as tight as I would like but it holds hair just fine.
