A Great Starter Projector.
I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a first projector, I just wanted to get an idea as to how well these low-end projectors work. I looked at the reviews, and settled on this one as a good place to start. The fact that it has android built in was a plus. It was as easy to set up as your android phone, however you'll find plenty of apps will not work due to the older android version. Still, I was able to side-load plenty of apps, so on that part, I'm quite happy. The Bluetooth works great with a speaker, again, good news. Wifi was very strong with this projector, and since first setting it up, I have yet to lose my connection after a week. Now, to the picture. If your thinking you'd like to use this in any kind of daylight, forget it. However, with the curtains drawn, and SOME ambient light, you CAN see the image, but it IS washed out a bit. Where this thing WILL impress you is in a dark room, or in a nighttime setting. I have mine hooked up to my Roku, and I get a very clear, full hd picture! I was very surprised by this! The processor on this is reasonably fast, and I haven't noticed any lag with my xbox either. If your looking for something that you'll use as your main home theater system, believe me, you WILL need to spend a fair amount of money, at least $500 or more. It\s all in the lumens. Most of these projectors range from 800, all the way up to 5000 or more. Also, make sure that you have all the inputs you'll need, (usb, hdmi, etc) and at a minimum, make sure it has wifi! Also, for a home theater projector, look at other sites for reviews, especially home theater websites, they will give you some very good recommendations. Amazons reviews are usually very good, but expert opinions are much more critical, and that can save you a lot of money in the long run. The Optomo line of projectors, for instance, gets great reviews from just about every site I've checked. BUT, if your new to these, as I am, this is a great projector to start with. Unless your REALLY picky, this will be great for movie night, and at this price, as long as your expectations are realistic, you'll probably be glad you bought it. This is a great way to start, without breaking the bank.
