Buying a weighted blanket for the first time, will it really relax your body?

Yes. On the first night I didn’t sleep well at all. On the second night, i was also tossing and turning and I woke up from a nightmare where I had a bunch of glass stuck in my skin all over my body. In the morning I had bad pins and needles. I’m also about 140 pounds in this blanket was extremely too heavy for me.

Weighted blankets are sized to cover only the top of your mattress, not hang down over the sides like a sheet or comforter.  I imagine if I had one that was hanging 5lbs or so all the way around 3 sides of my bed, it would not only feel heavier, but it would probably often end up on the floor.  Most listings for these state that they are only meant to cover the top of your mattress, and some even have diagrams showing this fact.  ALL the listings clearly state the dimensions, in inches, of the blanket along with the weight, in pounds.  Still, there are always some reviews with people complaining they “don’t hang over the sides of the bed”, like it’s a defect or something.  If that’s what you want, simply buy a larger size.  If you have ever purchased a bed, you should know the length and width of standard mattresses, and if you don’t, it is easy to look up.  If you buy things without actually reading the listing for them (and judging by most of the questions I see on most item, apparently, lots of people don’t read the listing but will take the time to type out a question and bother a bunch of previous purchasers, just so they get a “custom answer”, or something—lazy, I call it!) then I guess your going to be one of those Amazon shoppers who is continually disappointed, leaving a lot of negative reviews, and complaining about the “hassle of having to return the item”, simply because you got exactly what you paid for!
