Got my elderly mom a canary forMother’s Day with this book to help her learn how to care for her new companion. PS she requested the bird :)

This is an OK book for the basics, but I had encountered almost all this information already by talking to the pet store owner and watching some on line videos. The section about cost shouldn't be included in my opinion, because that information changes over time and by what part of the country you're in. So read the book, but know that it should only be a first step in you're efforts to learn what it takes to keep these birds happy and healthy.

Nicely written, simplified but extensive information on what canaries are and how to best care for them. Fascinating birds indeed. As I already own parrots, I had thought about getting canaries for the singing abilities, and this book is helping in the decision-making process.

Had canaries in the family as a child, but needed a refresher course in care and feeding. Great little book.

Great fir a new canary owner

For those who has no clue what canaries are and never had any experience, i’d say its a book that will give you some background. However, beyond basic background, this book is quite superficial, does not give any comprehensive details about topics and is a waste of money and time....i expected much more depth and information. A total disappointment.
