This is exactly how i intended it to work for my current audio chain as a stereo split w/the UGREEN AUX SPLITTER out of the tv, adapted to XLR to a crossover to a powered sub, the other to a stereo power amp adapted by RCA, effectively enabling a bi-amp'd signal-flow. Good materials & sturdy connector ends. NICE.

Bidirectional works partially as described with reduced volume to one speaker.
My plan was to use the cable to connect two audio components (a turntable and cd player) to one Sonos speaker line-in. It does transfer sound to the speaker, but the volume is quieter when two components are plugged into the female ends, even if only one component is powered on. If you unplug the cable from one component, the volume goes back to normal levels. From a decibel reading it reduces the level approximately 10% from the cd player and 20% from the record player. So if you don’t mind adjusting levels to your liking, you can manage.
