Review: Update; New holy grail! - I cannot believe how much I love this cleanser! Let me start off and say I’ve tried many different cetaphil products in the past and nothing ever stood out to me. I was previously using the youth to the people cleanser which I love but I don’t love spending $30 plus dollars on a face wash. I have oily acne prone skin and I’m currently using tretinoin as my main and only active. Since the tretinoin is so strong and often disturbs my skin barrier I can’t use any other leave on acids without irritating my skin which is where this product comes in. I feel like this is the product my skin was missing. It gives the tret that little boost that my skin was needing without aggravating my face and causing more breakouts. I’ve been using this alongside the tret since may and this is the clearest my skin has been for years! Even when my period rolls around I'm not getting any angry hormonal breakouts. I will say the texture is a little strange getting used to. I usually just emulsify the cleanser up in my hands with water and continue washing my face as normal. It washes off clean but not stripped and never leaves any residue behind. I also like use this almost like a mask when I shower by washing my face & leaving it on while I wash the rest of my body/shave etc. it gives the salicylic acid a little more time on my face to work it’s magic. I will definitely keep buying and using this I’m praying they never discontinue! Good luck to all the others struggling with oily acne prone skin! Update; I’m gutted cetaphil discontinued the SA cleanser from this line!! I tried the new one in a pump bottle and it is loaded with shea butter and seed oils which surprise surprise broke me out. I tried the exfoliating SA wash in a different line from cetaphil and it’s just doesn’t work as well. Looks like you lost me as a customer cetaphil. Please bring my holy grail back :,(

I love this product. It was so good. It really helped clear my acne and maintain clear skin. I have been using it for over four years, and the product has sadly been discontinued. I am petitioning to bring back the product. I do not think I can use any other cleanser, as it worked so well. I loved the cream-based cleanser as it applied smoothly on the face, and it is not as drying as other salicylic acid cleansers. I also love how it is lightweight and does not clog the pores. It is also great for sensitive skin since it has no fragrance. Please bring back this product.

I cannot believe how much I love this cleanser! Let me start off and say I’ve tried many different cetaphil products in the past and nothing ever stood out to me. I was previously using the youth to the people cleanser which I love but I don’t love spending $30 plus dollars on a face wash. I love Cetaphil products and I feel confident putting them on my skin. I had a favorite from another company that had the same products in it. It was my first time using a cream cleanser and I loved it, but it had a fragrance to it. It was a natural, minty scent that I loved. Here is where Cetaphil came in. I wanted cream and the 2% Salicylic Acid...so when I saw Cetaphil had this, I had to give it a try. It is a cream, but it does have an ever-so-slight foam effect. It's not greasy and is thick enough as to not feel watered down. It smells like plastic--like the container it comes in, so I added my own Spearmint essential oil....just a couple of drops as to not affect the performance or consistency of the product. I love it even more now.
