These clutches have one basic function. The one we received wanted to engage will below the rpm it should. I saw similar reviews but figured I would take a chance due to the limited options I was finding on amazon especially in a ten tooth to keep cart top speed down. Very few engines I have used would idle at a low enough speed to make this clutch useful. Im talking very old engines idle smooth and run ok at very low RPM. If you buy this clutch and it catches a little at a normal idle RPM dont use it, Its going to get very hot and the spring(s) just get weaker with heat, meaning it will grab at even lower RPM before long. All it takes is some basic quality control to test these before they go out. In any case this company does not care very much about what you receive. The American flag does not belong anywhere near this clutch in the picture. Do a basic web search on the company to get some idea on what you are getting. Find something good and spend that extra $20-$30 on something that will last for your kids..I put the old one back on for now, it works way better .. Hope this helps.

I bought this clutch to replace the clutch on my go kart that was locked up. This clutch looked good and worked good for about 20 minutes of riding the go kart. Then it started to partially engage at Idol, which ends up shutting to motor off. So now trying to start the thing is a real pain cause the clutch engages and shuts the motor off before I can get back in the set and try to get it going. So now I’m pretty much back where I started with the old clutch. Oh and I even put a new chain on and aligned the sprockets to the clutch perfectly. Wish there was a way to resolve this.

Very impressed! Engages when I want it to. When I need it to slip some at low speed, maneuvering up hills around tough obstacles, it manages well, once I can hit the throttle again, it kicks in and I'm gone at full tilt! Very happy after a few hours tough use trail riding. Seems to even work better now after breaking it in some. I use it on a Coleman CT200U-EX with a bigger 212cc 7+hp engine. 300lbs. total weight with bike included.

I installed this clutch onto a predator 212 for a mini bike build. Although it works just fine, I wish that it would ramp up a bit slower. As it is, you apply throttle and nothing, then it grabs and almost flips the mini bike. Probably going to replace it sooner or later with a torque converter and leave the clutches to go carts and things that don't easily wheelie.

a few weeks in with use being on a mini bike and the clutch has already started to slip... its not bad yet, but I didn't think it would start having issues so soon.... from my research its about 50/50 on if these style of clutches will last for months or weeks in this use.... will probably pony up and spend on a torque converter for the mini bike next time
