Alpine Furniture West Haven Sleigh Bed, King Size

The headboard was cracked in 2 places when it arrived. The pegs under the frame to hold up the box springs are only small dowels that fits into a slot. Any rocking or sliding on the bed causes the dowels to shift and break. With a family of kids there is plenty of scooting around where the shifting weight is not handled properly. The frame also extends out past the mattress and box spring so far on all sides you HAVE to have a bed skirt. Also watch your feet/legs/ankles on the edges. OUCH. A King bed requires the box spring but the height of the bed frame, box spring, and mattress is now so hight i have to hop on. This is a pretty bed that doesn't make much sense. Why am i not shipping it back? Because its not worth the hassle of taking it apart and boxing it up.

This bed is indeed beautiful but not very good quality. The slats are terrible, very thin and break very easily. I did know that before buying (we cut some 2X4s and fixed it fairly easily) It has been much better since that but the frame still creaks/shifts a bit. For the price I suppose it is decent frame.

This is the cheapest bed I have ever purchased. I will definetely be returning. We ordered this in a king and it was very easy to put together. All it is is 8 screws and 8 wooden dowels which is why the bed is very flimsy. It shakes with just the lightest movment. I'm so sick of everything in this country costing as much as gold but having the quality of sand. Anyway word to the wise, continue searching and hopefully finding one of better quality than this light weight junk.

Love the look of this bed. We bought a king. Only issue we have, is if you have a regular box spring, it makes this bed extremely tall. I would suggest a low profile box spring. Otherwise, has been sturdy and we did not have to reinforce the frame. Great buy for the price!

Assembles easily but is flimsily constructed.

This bed is supposedly made of wood, which is the codeword for pressboard. It's so flimsy that it broke the first time I simply put my 200 pound weight on it while making my bed. Under no circumstances should anyone consider buying this piece of junk

Beautiful bed, we did though have to do some reinforcement on the slats. Nothing a quick trip to the Home Depot couldn't fix! We just added wood pannels and made it into a true platform bed... We love it!
