Great for appliqué
I love both this shorter length and the longer ones as well. They are super thin and the head is very tiny, almost not there. This actually makes them perfect for positioning pieces for appliqué under an overlay as they do not create bumps and distortion. They are so fine they do bend easily, but I slide them into the fabric rather than pushing down as with a normal pin. They slide into the fabric and, as there are no bumps distorting the placement of the overlay, successive pieces can accurately be placed under the overlay. The shorter ones tend to make them a tiny bit less bendy so it’s slightly easier to get the point back to the top after sliding into the fabric, but I think it’s just a matter of a bit of “fiddling” more than anything. I keep them on a refrigerator magnet which makes them easy to slide off to use as there’s not much of a head to grab onto.

Perfect for small applique pieces
I'm happy with these pins. The shorter length is perfect for small applique pieces. They are also very thin and sharp, so they're easy to use. I was concerned when I first tried them on an applique that was stabilized with fusible web because the pins bent a lot when inserting them into the fabric. However, each time a pin bent, it straightened out immediately when removed from the fabric and I was able to use it again by slightly changing the angle of insertion. I definitely recommend them for use with small pieces. They don't get in the way of your stitching and they do a good job of holding pieces together.

Nice & thin pins.
Wanted very fine pins. This fits the bill.

Very Thin, longer than Clover applique Pins and very 'bendy'
These are extremely thin pins which are great for applique. They are a bit longer than the normal Clover applique pins but the only drawback to them is how flexible they are. When you're trying to pin down an applique piece that is teeny and aren't grabbing the fabric, it's very difficult to get them to pierce the pieces unless you are hold the background and applique piece which doesn't work well for accuracy. I still really love the pins and maybe they will make them just a teensy bit stronger.

My Faborite Pin For Hand Appliqué...Perfect...Yes!
I do a lot of hand applie and these pins are, without a doubt, my favorites. Some friends have complained that they bend...and yes, they do do that at times, but they are easy to straighten out again. I LOVE them because of the thinness ... There is very little distortion with these pins...thicker ones can distort the applique pieces simply because of their thickness.I had used these in the longer size but now find that I definitely favor this shorter length...perfect...just like Karen Kat Buckley's scissors which I have all sizes now.

A Must For Quilting & Sewing!
I just love these pins! I had the longer ones, and when I saw that there was a shorter version, I just had to order it! These pins are so sharp and fine, they glide through even several layers of fabric, like a quilt, or costumes. No worries at all if you sew over them, I've only ever had one pin bend from being sewn over. Typically, the needle just slips past this ultra fine pin.

Great little pins!
I like these pins because they are small and sharp but I am disappointed that they bend so easily.I will be using them often though and am glad I ordered them!

Doesn't work well for wool
I gave this rating because I wanted these for wool. They are very delicate and bend very easily. I had a hard time getting them through wool. I eventually did but bent several in the process. They went through cotton fabric very well. It was nice not having long pins sticking out as I sewed.

Appliqué with distorting
I am an avid stitcher. I spend a minimum of 12 hours a day stitching. I am a quilter and work with wool appliqué. These pins are the ONLY brand of appliqué needles I use. They hold the fabric and wool together without distorting the placement of pieces. They are thin and do not harm the fabric or wool fibres.

Very delicate pin
The pins are very thin and flexible I use them for precision piecing on no more than 2 layers of cotton If your sewing machine runs over one it doesn’t seem to break needles
