Impressed
I was very pleasantly surprised with this shampoo. Stopped the itching after the first bath. As with many other reviewers, my dog broke out in some sort of itchy, bumpy rash. This calmed the skin and removed the bumps. He slept, snoring, for 8 hours after his bath. There is no lather generated by this shampoo, feels like a lotion when applied, yet cleans the skin completely. Smell isn't bad and rinsed out with the shampoo. My neighbor has spent 100s of dollars on her dog trying to remedy the same condition. I turned her onto this product and am anxiously waiting for her results. All said and done, I would highly recommend the product for any type of skin issue. It may not work for all problems, but is much cheaper than a vet visit.

Functional but not a fan of the scent
I purchased this shampoo when my dog started experiencing seasonal allergies that made her skin break out. This shampoo seemed to help soothe her skin, and it did leave her fur feeling clean. However, the scent smells very chemically - I’ve had a few people mention she smells like a new car - so I try to cover it up or use another shampoo after this one.

Instant relief, cautiously optimistic
My cat has gone under sedation twice in a couple years and both times he started scratching incessantly and ripping his fur out a few days after his procedures. His skin developed white plaques/scales all over his entire body, bald spots all over (to bare skin), nonstop scratching, absolute misery. I suspect it’s a drug reaction to something they’re giving him in surgery. Poor kitty has been in a sweater for weeks and even if I took it off for just a few seconds, he’d be ripping his fur out again. We just started an immunosupressant, one that helped last time, but he’s only had two doses so far so I don’t think it’s working yet. However, I decided to give the little guy a bath with this stuff this morning just to help get some of the scales off in the meantime, and holy moly - he stopped scratching! I didn’t use much soap because I wasn’t sure if it would burn and I didn’t leave it sit. Just used a tbsp or two and rinsed it right back off but all the visible scales that were littered throughout his fur are gone, he isn’t scratching at all, he seems relieved, and I was able to take his sweater off for the first time in almost a month. Check out the pic. He’s just resting comfortably for the first time in a long time. I’m cautiously optimistic because anything can change but as of right now, I’m amazed.

Works well for my yeasty/allergy dog…
My dog has seasonal allergies and she also tends to get yeasty when her allergies are bad. She gets smelly, scratches constantly and sheds like crazy. This is the only shampoo I’ve used that really seems to help and have a lasting effect. With other shampoos the yeast smell is literally back within 24 hours. This really seems to knock it down. Her itching is decreased as well. It lathers very nicely and rinses easily, leaving her fresh smelling and her coat soft. Will definitely keep using it.

No more scratches!
I was super skeptical bc my poor dog itches daily and every shampoo I've tried has continued to make her itch. I gave her her first bath with this about 3 hrs ago and she has not itched one time! Im super impressed!! If anything changes, I will update!

A must for Pyoderma & Folliculitus
If your dog has pyoderma or folliculitis this shampoo is an ABSOLUTE must. I read some reviews that this shampoo made the animal's condition worse. First off if you research a benzoyl peroxide shampoo you will read that it "flushes the follicles". The shampoo in conjunction with antibiotics & steroids helps drive the infection out of the skin and follicles. I have used PetMd for 1.5 weeks every other shampoo in conjunction with the Cholrihexadine shampoo and my dog's (Shih Tzu) severe folliculitis is finally clearing up. After the first 2 baths with PetMD, her skin did break out but then started to clear up as the infection is flushed out. She has been battling this since August 2022 and was misdiagnosed by 2 other Vets so her infection is not easy to clear up. The key is you must be CONSISTENT and use the product every 2 to 3 days, leave it on for 10 minutes AFTER you lather your entire dog (I use the timer on my iPhone) for as long as recommended by your Vet. The shampoo does have a nice citrus scent and very minimal lather, I do notice that a day or two after a bath I do smell a "peroxide" scent, but this means the product is working as it should. I do recommend that you use this shampoo in conjunction with your Vet as your pet will need steroids or histamine for the swelling that comes from the removal of the bacteria. After a few more weeks I will post another update, hopefully with some photos so that you can see the massive difference. PetMd has a customer for life and I will not be without this.

Didn’t really help. But not the product itself’s fault.
I can’t really give 1 star or 5 stars. It didn’t help my cats skin issues but in saying that, I also don’t really know what is wrong with her. I’m sure the product itself is fine and it was misuse on my part.

Soft and shiny coat.
I used this on my Greyhound with suspected blocked follicles. It made her coat incredibly soft and shiny but did dry her skin out a tiny bit (which was to be expected) and gave her dandruff. I shall give it a few more goes to see if it clears out the skin.
