SYMAS107 Metal Gyro RC Helicopter Balance Bar

Purchased as a gift for my brother, but found out that someone else had gotten him the same gift, so i decided to keep it for myself.I've owned/used around 8 of these and this one is by far the most stable. It holds its altitude easily and responds sharply and accurately to left/right (rotational) and forward/reverse controls. The rated battery life is about 5 minutes but i have been able to use it for around 10-12 at a time, also come with a USB charger which works very well and helps the batteries in the controller last longer, as you are not using them to charge the helicopter.The item did not ship with the free extra balance bar as advertised, but after contacting the seller, they promptly shipped one to me.The only problem I've come across, which is going to eventually(probably sooner than later) cause the helicopter to be unusable is one of the plastic drive gears for the rotors has stripped off a couple of teeth and now causes the helicopter to shake(rotational) left to right about 10 deg. This will inevitably get worse over time. I did find replacements online at about $5 plus $4 shipping, it's just not that much fun to have to spend more money just over a month after you start using something.Overall this is a great value at around $30, lots of fun, great battery life and pretty durable despite the drive gear issue(which in all honesty is most likely my own fault for pushing my luck ripping around my living room like I'm some kind of ace pilot[which all of the things in my living room i have run into could tell you I am not]).

We bought the helicopter and really enjoyed it with my kids, well, maybe too much. The toy broke in two days and you know why. Ordered this thing and thought it was a piece of cake to install. Unfortunately not so! The screws that attaches the rotating shaft to the balance bar was not so easy to screw back and I actually damaged the screw thread in the plastic part. And it is pretty easy to make the damage. Eventually I used crazy clue to fix it. So there will be no next time probably...

It's my first mini remote RC helicopter and I am having lots of fun with it. Took a little while to get used to flying it but with some practice it became easier. Although I crashed it a few times (well maybe more than a few), it still held up though being so small. My seven year old nephew is also having a go at it and is having as much fun as I am. Great toy for the big boys and little boys, of course with the necessary supervision.

The balance bar was not an exact replacement for the original. The ordered balance bar was longer and heavier and the square area that connects to the main rotor shaft was much larger than the original. I also did not receive the connector pin with my new balance bar and the original connector pin is too small in length and will not work on the new balance bar.

The original balance bar that came with the helicopter broke on the 2nd crash. I ordered 6 of these balance bars because I thought that I would be breaking them left and right. However as I got to be a better pilot I crashed less and less serious. I'm glad I ordered 6 though as I have 2 S107's and I did not want any down time if the bar should break again. I'm extremely happy with the product and its quality. I'm also extremely happy with the delivery time and the service from the vendor and would order any parts I need from them again.

Bought this to replace my S107. Unfortunately, it is not balanced.I didn't realize this is not the orignal version. Found out something is wrong when1. Pin is too big for this bar. I used a thumb pin to make it fit.2. Original connect buckle is too big for this bar. ??3. Heli fly unbalance, going in circle.Finally had to put back my old balance bar which have a tiny plastic chipped off and with cellophane taped on both ends. And Heli is balanced again. I thought buying a new bar will make it look a little better. But this balance bar is so unbalanced compared to a slighly broken bar?? Other thing about this bar, the weights are larger than the original. Got this from 'Active Living' fullfilled by Amazon.

While this balance bar was a direct replacement, it is not the same as the original balance bar on my S107. It fit well enough, but the weights are not the same and my S107 was no longer stable during flight. The weights were not pushed in all the way, so this may not be the same for all of these, but for the one I received....it was not balanced and there was no way to fix it.I didn't realize this wasn't OEM... so I'm out a few bucks. I'd suggest buying the OEM one to ensure correct operation.

They are fun for awhile, then if you don't use it, the batter seems to die, and replacing the battery is not worth the work involved, which doesn't work anyway. Just buy a new copter and save yourself a headache.
