Got this 21-speed twist shifter at a great price. My son wanted this instead of the thumb shifter on his new bike, and it includes new grips and all the necessary cables, which was really convenient. My husband was able to install it easily, and everything worked as expected once it was set up. Overall, a good value and a smooth upgrade.

Great value. Not as good quality as old ones but what is expected. Older shifters not as smooth. Recommend changing along with a good Shimano Derailleur. Skipped the brake components not needed usually. Easy install. Would get 5 stars but handle grips child sized and not meant for better Mtn bikes.

I bought this twist shifter to replace the one on my Electra Townie (7 speed) I liked the gear display number better than the original shifter, which displayed the current gear through a small window which obscured part of the number. But I was unable to use it because the attached cable was about 14 inches too short for my Townie. I would have returned the item, but I damaged it while trying unsuccessfully to disassemble it to install a longer cable. I was not prepared to deal with a shifter which did not allow me to substitute another cable, but it looks like that is true of almost all shifters.

I have learned these shifters come with cables installed because it is not to be dismantled which means it's required to replace the part when cables fail. Aside from that it is the #1 choice shifter, since it is a twist shifters my only option not other type of shifter for bicycles...

Bought to replace the similar that was on my old Klein bike, they are okay but a little thick so not for people with small hands
