Perfect (almost) for use in my cold smoker
Tends to absorb moisture. I have to dry it out in the oven. Then I put it in a spice mill to make it finer. I use this in my Amazn smoker, which seems to prefer a very fine sawdust. Once ground and dried it lights and stays lit for hours

Great for cold smoking
Had this for more than a year. Works in our continuous ring smoke generator while cold smoking salmon. Just need to dry it in the oven before lighting, or it will go out. Then again, I live in a very humid area. Does leave a yellowish smoke residue on the grill after use. Salmon comes out tasting awesome using this!

Completely ruin my Alaska salmon
I almost never write a review, but I feel obligated to warn others. I bought this along with a coil smoker. Tried several times today unsuccessfully get lit in the coil smoker so that I could cold smoke my salmon fillets. It did not light, but I did read where others hint that you should microwave the sawdust before putting it in the coil and I tried that also. I thought I had it finally lit and went away for six hours to play golf and when I came back, I found out it went out completely and ruined both my salmon fillets, which I had to throw away. Do not buy as I do not recommend
