Why almost 15 dollars to ship? Seems excessive for a piece of fabric.

The material is felt. My guess about the cost is that it's not used much any more. $15 for shipping something that light seems rather excessive.

Will this work on a thermo boat? If so how do you apply it?

I used this product on a royalex canoe, which has a plastic outer shell. Just give the area a good sanding with coarse sand paper. Then clean with soap and water and let dry. First saturate the pads with fiberglass resin. I taped a trashbag to the hull for a working surface. Next put the resin on the bow or stern, which ever your doing. Put the pad on and smooth out with the paint brush.. Then coat with more resin. Let dry.

Do these add significant drag? I would think they'd affect the performance of the canoe when paddling?

Doesn't seem to add any drag. I'm more secure knowing that the leading edge of my bow and stern are well protected. I usually canoe in the Quetico where the shore lines are often rock strewn and, sharp edged, at that.

How much epoxy should be used for each strip?
