Review: Great addition for energy savings - I installed it in my attic to the bottom of the trusses and part of the sunny side gable end walls. Last summer if it was 90+ degrees outside my heat pump struggled to keep up and would run almost constantly. To be fair I am seasoned at air sealing and insulating which I did at the same time as installing the radiant barrier. My heat pump has no problems keeping up now! I wish I would have taken temp readings pre and post to document the change. Pair this with quality air sealing and insulation for extra savings. It's pretty easy to install with a staple gun/ hammer tacker by yourself but having a helper would definitely help. For your comparison, I live in TN and have an electric package unit heat pump that is over 20 years old. My cooling costs in the hot months are between $100 to $140 for about 1,250 ft2. I'm even thinking about adding it to my chicken coop (in non contact areas because it's not a durable product). Review: Good value - Good stuff. Well priced. Strong. I used staples to fit.

Inconsistent, has large cuts/tears and holes.
Bought 2 rolls, one is fine. Second roll is nearly unusable, has large cuts and damaged sections (including holes) several layers thick, perhaps through the entire roll. There is also a white film that can be wiped off, but will reduce the effectiveness of the material. Shipping box was fine, roll was packaged like this. Very disappointed Updated to 5 stars, seller reached out and sent a new roll with no defects. I appreciate the prompt response.

Works great but....
i used this in my attic- stapled to the bottom of the rafters. it works amazingly. instant difference. in south texas and i can leave my windows open on an 85 degree day. looking forward to major savings this summer. here's the caveat; it is not durable and rips easily so that makes installation tricky if you're not careful. however, that does not impact it's effectiveness at all. it still reflects 97% of radiant heat. you just might have to re-staple or use foil tape during installation. another point; this 4 foot wide product is not for truss roofs. if installing this product horizontally on the rafters you have to cut the barrier around each jack support. it's awful but i got it done. do yourself a favor and buy the 26 inch wide product so you can install it vertically on the rafters.

Great radiant barrier for the price
Great value for radiant barrier roll. It's lightweight but very durable, requires a razor or scissors to cut it so won't rip unintentionally. Keeping my attic cooler so it seems very good investment and value. It's not make as insulation but rather reflecting the radiant heat so installation doesn't have to be done in an exact way and missing sections is not the worst thing. Best done with another but alone works fine.

Works better than expected
I read several reviews and checked online for advise on installation in a desperate search for something to cool my second floor/ converted attic space. Being an old farmhouse the only insulation was some fiberglass laid between the ceiling joists of the first floor, basically the attic floor. Nothing at all on the walls or roof area at all. Stapling this to the rafter joists created an air gap between this and the roof decking which is what youre supposed to have for this to work properly, and it does. After covering the west facing side there was a noticeable difference in temperature. And after covering bedroom wall exposed to the attic side it probably lowered the temperature by 20 degrees or more. Compared to fiberglass this made the most noticeable difference and was the cheapest option by far. My AC unit upstairs works much better now and will pay for the cost easily.

I do not recommend this product
Thin and flimsy, thereโs no way something this thin and flimsy can provide any sort of a barrier first off second off every time I try to put a staple in it. It just rips and falls back down. I am not even sure how Iโm supposed to get this so-called radiant barrier to stay in, it is not a durable product, there is no way to get it installed because it just keeps ripping

Great choice for unconditioned cottage in summer.
Installed easy. Didnโt rip. Made unconditioned cottage attic way cooler in summer.

Great quality.
Very happy with the quality of this material. It is of a reflective Mylar type, with ingrained diamond nylon lattice for tear resistance and some stretch. You can cut and shape to your liking. Used it to line my attic space, reflective on both sides. No problems with seller, ordered from Canada and shipped from the US, arrived ahead of schedule. Professional transaction. Thank you.
