What more can I say this product is all over YouTube I was born in the 80s I've been into emulators and ROMs since the early 90s I've had quite a few emulator consoles including the gpd XD this product by far is the best I also got 2 sd cards obviously from being a collector from the 90s I had my own backups and yes I do have the original Game Boy Super NES master system Mega Drive game gear PlayStation one and N64 and Dreamcast

Very impressive
A very impressive handheld console. This is the best of the RG341 models in my opinion as it has a higher resolution screen compared to the P variant for instance. Even though it's not widescreen you're unlikely to be playing most games in anything other than 4:3 if you do buy a system like this.It loses a point because the listing is misleading with "2500 games" and the stock firmware is pretty rubbish. I promptly replaced the firmware with 341ELEC, a fork of the venerable EmuELEC. The ROMs provided have no rhyme or reason (mislabeled or completely random), and very few in number. This isn't a surprise as distribution of ROMs is technically illegal. After a lengthy process of loading up custom firmware, replacing the questionable SD cards and adding my own ROMs I can say I'm thoroughly impressed overall.Build quality:Simply excellent. If you like the feel of the Gameboy colour then you'll find the RG351V a joy to handle. The buttons are clicky and defined, and there's some tactile feedback when pressing them - they aren't squishy at all. There's four shoulder buttons cleverly placed on the back that are also tactile and satisfying to press. The only issue I have is the dpad is a little bit squishy for my liking, but similar in feel to the ones you would find on a Gameboy or Gameboy Advance; this is just my preference as I like a dpad which has some resistance like a button. The analogue stock is also very precise considering the low profile design. Being a relatively small machine it was hard to get used to holding comfortably especially with large hands like mine, I shifted my grip around constantly for a few weeks before I found something that felt natural. The speaker is located at the bottom right corner of the case like a classic Gameboy and I'm pleased to say that it's a very, very good quality one to boot. Most of these handheld emulator consoles scrimp on the speaker but not with the RG351 line. You can have the volume fairly high before it starts to sound tinnie and distorted. Being in the bottom right corner you're likely to cover it with your palm unless you support the system with your left hand and hover the other slightly to the right - I naturally hold it this way so it's not a problem but it may be if you're inclination is to bare the weight of a Gameboy in your right hand. The screen is also excellent. It's very sharp with a wide colour gamut and Relatively high resolution at 480p, which is perfect for older games. It also scales down perfectly to the 240p mark for systems like the SNES. I haven't seen any ghosting whatsoever and it seems to handle lower refresh rates reasonably well.Emulation quality:8bit and 16bit systems are emulated perfectly with no lag or artifacts of any kind. I imagine these are the types of games that most will be playing so a big thumbs up. Even systems like the the Sega CD have been flawless in my testing. There's a few rare exceptions like Starfox that don't work on any of the six emulators I've installed but Super FX games are notoriously hard to emulate so I can give it some leeway in that regard.Handheld systems like the Gameboy and Nomad are also perfect. DS games also emulate perfectly, however using a virtual touchscreen doesn't quite feel right. From my very brief testing of the PSP it seems to handle just fine but it's not ideal playing on a system designed with a 4:3 aspect ratio seeing as the PSP is a modern system with widescreen, but impressively it can play the games I've tried relatively smoothly.Once you move up to the N64/PS1 side of things the emulation quality begins to vary. Of the 30 PS1 games I've played only one had performance issues and it seems as long as you disable certain features in the Emulation Station settings like the rewind feature every game runs either in perfect parity with an actual PS1 or with minor stuttering. N64 games are very spotty though; some games have no fps drops whatsoever and others are completely unplayable like Snowboard kids which stutters uncontrollably. Classics like Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time are flawless thoughThe most interesting console to emulate is the Dreamcast on this machine. Like the N64 the stability is sporadic but if you play around with specific emulators for each game individually you can get some impressive performance; Powerstone 2 and Crazy Taxi play very well, and other games like Sonic Adventure can be configured to a point that they're definitely playable if a tad unstable. Conclusion:To conclude I'll say that the whole RG351 lineup is very capable and the chipset they've been using for a while is being utilised to nearing its peak with custom firmware. If you want to get the most out of the system though you'll need a little bit of technical know-how in order to flash a new bios and firmware onto an SD card and have your own ROMs, so unless you have the ability to dump your own or a source to download them you won't have much fun with what little comes preinstalled on the card that comes with it; you CAN simply drop your ROMs into the separate game folders on the second SD card but the stock front-end software is really quite ugly and poorly optimised. There's plenty of tutorials online that can guide you through the setup process of 351ELEC if you aren't technically minded as well. Be warned that quite a few of your favourite games from the 64bit generation and beyond won't work though, particularly if they have unusual rendering techniques that are difficult to emulate. However, Amazon really should remove "2500 games" from the description because it only has about 50 games and is very misleading.I hope this review is helpful.Edit: the system has an unusual method of loading the OS and ROMs, which can be somewhat confusing with the pigeon English instructions that come in the box; it operates on two SD cards - one for the BIOS/firmware, and another for your games library. Once you've got your head round this concept you can start looking into much better custom firmware. The one star reviews seem to pertain mostly to build quality. The system I reviewed is very sturdy and feels as high quality as any Nintendo handheld I've owned, so I may have been lucky here. I've read that the initial manufacturing run of RG351V's were faulty and had some QC problems the reviews on Amazon have mentioned; I assume the buyers on here unfortunately were sent the faulty systems whilst I was sent the newer model which has fixed all the QC problems mentioned. Other reviews elsewhere online have also mentioned issues with heat build-up, but I haven't found any definitive explanation as to why this is. I suspect it might be a poor application of thermal compound on the CPU or a poor quality thermal conductor all together. My console hasn't had any of these thermal issues and I run the CPU in a permanent overclock which suggests the newer models have fixed the problem.Edit: been using it three to four times a week at home and traveling for nearly nine months now and haven't had any problems. The battery still lasts about the same time - which isn't that long - I neglected to mention that fact in my initial review. No hardware or emulation issues whatsoever so far, and I haven't turned off the CPU overclock once.My opinion hasn't changed. Still excellent.

Excellent and capable device, with a learning curve
So, this thing rules. Especially for the price. The screen is excellent, battery life is good, emulation performance is solid (about what can be expected from an RK3326 chipset) and for a device designed around nostalgia with it's retro Game Boy aesthetic, it's actually comfortable and has excellent controls. Fits in a cargo pocket nicely, fits well in the hand (though you might struggle if your hands are bigger) and the buttons and layout are excellent (especially the raised shoulder buttons on the back).Don't think you can just jump in immediately and plug and play with this thing though. You will need to do some setup, it will require perhaps learning some new skills. If you're unsure, you should check out "Retro Game Corps" on YouTube for good tutorial videos. You will want to replace the MicroSD cards, the ones that come with the device are cheap knock offs with a high failure rate. You'll also want to use a Custom OS, the OS that comes with the device is trash. Your best bets are 351Elec (which I use for simplicity) and ArkOS (which is more capable but advanced). Also, legality of shipping with preloaded ROMs aside, a lot of the pre installed ROMs are Chinese language. So you'll need your own directory of ROMs (you can pull BIOS files from the card that comes with your device though). Pro tip - if you're worried about framerate and performance, use PAL region ROMs - NTSC caps out at 60fps, PAL at 50fps, so they're a little easier to maintain full speed at.All in all, a bit of a learning curve, but if you're in the market for a dedicated emulation handheld, this comes highly recommended. Well worth the price.

An Incredible product, worth the price but has a few hardware teething issues..
This is a fantastic product and once its up and running its simply incredible what you can do with it, very convenient and accessible. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that both units I received from Amazon where faulty (Both different faults but for the same underling reasons) with Temperature issue, once the unit had been played for a while the temp would rise above 65 degrees and that's when the hardware would fail. There's a little bit of info on the web about this issue and people suggested to lower the brightness slightly, to stave off the temp problems, however I found this only delayed the issue.Amazon issued a refund both times and with no delay so I cant compliment the customer service enough regarding that. I feel that Anbernic have had a batch of poor units and I will 100% buy again in 6 months or so when they've ironed out hardware issues.

Very good but leaves a little to be desired...
The form factor is fantastic. Like a modern version of a Game Boy with a fantastic and vivid colour screen. Megadrive and SNES games run immaculately and look great on the 4:3 screen for which they were intended. PS1 emulation is also perfect which did surprise me. Dreamcast and Gamecube not so much. In fact I don't even bother trying anymore with those. N64 is hit and miss but Mariokart 64 works. The audio is slightly choppy but only every now and then. The ports are good. It's not as easy as you think though and takes time to get them running. Great system though. Will be good in a year or two when something that looks just like this (and at this price) will be able to run the Dreamcast, Gamecube and PS2 games.

Very good retro handheld console
Very good retro handheld console, comes with tons of games.I have followed Retro Game Corps guide an flashed 351ELEC firmware, so used stock one only for one week.Display is good IPS, colors do not shift, brightness is also good, aspect ration is great.Battery life is not very clear to me as I suspect that OS sleep is not optimal. But if I chare it full and then play nonstop 3hours I still have more than 40% left. So it should be around 4-5 hours.SD cards are some Kioxia or somethig like that, I have swapped them to Sandisk to avoid surprises. So far no complains.I suggest to buy hardcoating case. I had once had it in my bag and it switched on the display accidently and executed the game, which draw all the battery, device became hot and there were visual artifacts on the display. The next day it worked with no issues.
