Nifty USB adapter
Pros:- Great speeds. Consistent output. No latency or slowdowns during the day.- 5ghz support. Blazing fast. Less inteference from neighbours. Live in a very busy flat, usually have disconnects on 2.4ghz- Very small form factor. Unobtrusive compared to bigger models. Personally dislike large adapters, so this is great- Plug and play, no driver install was needed for me. Windows may have installed it automatically. This may vary.Cons:- Bad 2.4ghz performance. I don't think this adapter is suited to 2.4ghz very well, so I think it may be purposely more optimized for 5ghz. This is fine for me as I normally use 5ghz and have a fairly new router.- Sometimes disconnects. Very rarely and it will automatically reconnect so I don't have to do anything.. I think this happens because the device overheats, and I find that isolating the USB at the back or front of your PC (don't crowd it with lots of neighbouring USB devices) helps, because it provides more airflow.Very happy with this one so far (~2 months old). Make sure your router supports 5ghz to get the most out of it.

Very buggy software
This device was terrible1. Dropped connection regularly, which is extremely irritating when you are on a call with customers.2. Froze regularly - had to unplug and re-connect to get it working.3. Software hung regularly - software would freeze, only solution was to reboot PC.4. When I decided to uninstall the software, it would not come off my PC. I had to reboot into Safe Mode and manually scrub the software off my PC by going into the registry and wiping entries one by one.I am an advanced PC user, with deep knowledge of hardware and software, and found this device intolerable. Would not buy it again. Replaced it with a TP-Link Archer T4U AC1300 which is working like a charm.

Stable connection
I had bought one usb 3.0 adapter with 600mbps/1200mbps settings, and could get only 144-156mbps max, even using usb3.0 port, plus constant disconnections were there, but with Asus ac51 it seems rock solid, for the last 25 hours, no drop in connection, plus i get 263.5 mbps bandwidth, which i don't even need, i'd be fine with less

Easy to install and run
Easy to install and run. Fast for 5G Wi-Fi, but very slow for 2G on my Dell laptop, so I had to return it as I sometimes use my laptop in a 2G environment. My laptops own 2G card was faster than the adapter. I then purchased a Netgear A6100 which was fast for both 2G and 5G. However if only using 5G I would recommend this one, as it is a smaller more robust adapter than the Netgear A6100.

"Linux Support" but not for hostapd
Beware "Linux Support", the chipset is Ralink/MediaTek RT2870 but is not compatible with the rt2800USB driver. The only way I could get a working driver was to compile the 'some_changes' branch of the 'maage/mt7610u_wifi' github repo. Unfortunately that driver is not compatible with hostapd and so I could not use this to create a WiFi access point. It does however work fine as normal WiFi adapter, just make sure you google the latest drivers first - whatever your OS.
