Defective
I installed the batteries - turned on and off. It was switched off but made a few clicking noises. When I went to go put it on the bicycle it wouldn't work. I checked the batteries and they were hot & the coating of the battery was melting. This headlight will be returned.

Torque it
You may think it’s on tight but you’ll need to really torque it after the first ride… where it attaches to the bike and the attachment to the arm.It was smaller than I thought but that was better for me. At first I couldn’t get it open but prying it open with a screwdriver worked

Pretty, difficult to install (depending on bike), and not the brightest.
I got this light for my RetroSpec Kinney Mixte bike that is already really retro, and just needed a light to finish that look. For weeks though, I just looked at this light and wondered "how am I gonna put this on here?" My end solution was simple, and I hope it doesn't cause problems with my handlebars down the road. I took the bolt off the handlebar tensioner, slipped the bracket in there, bolted it down tight, then bolted the light bracket's bolts down tight. Holds great so far.Brightness...is acceptable but no more than that. I wouldn't say it's just for style, but any dimmer I'd take issue. A bike doesn't have to be exceptionally bright like a car, as you just aren't going as fast as one. Even so, it's sometimes a little tricky to know what your surroundings are like with the narrow beam of light. I would say for road use, it's plenty okay, for off-road yard use, more tricky but acceptable by my standard.Wish they made it easier to change batteries out of it, and I'm hoping it's weather resistant.Overall, I'm satisfied with it, but that installation was not good at all. No instructions, nothing. It's not the brightest, but acceptable, and it looks nice. I think it's not a bad buy, but there are improvements that could be made, or could be bought.

As expected ...
Just what I was looking for, a nice retro light. This will fit perfectly under my handlebar basket.I believe the light is bright enough to see ... I will be able to judge better when the snow is gone.I was surprised that there were no instructions included. It was not easy to open to install the batteries, I also used a flat screwdriver. But once I figured it out I could do it without .. just slightly "push" the side screw in ... and it will pop open!Sadly, there is no water seal to make it water tight. My bike is stored away for the winter ... I will update when I install it.I am looking forward to using it :-)

Works ok
I was surprised that there was no instructions in the box. It took me awhile to figure out how to open the unit to install batteries that were not included. Would be nice if it got its power from a small generator rubbing on your tire just because the batteries don’t seem to last that long. It’s a pretty straightforward and simple design. After you take the screw out of the side use a small screwdriver to push the compression tab enough to snap the front face off then install the batteries and reassemble. I put mine on my front brake caliper. There was the perfect sized threaded hole that fit the screw that was included.
