Would definitely buy again!
I have had these for years but only really started to use them like crazy since having kids. They are the absolute perfect size to make and freeze batches of veggie pasta sauce, herbs in olive oil, or leftover coffee for my iced coffee drinks. I am really working on not wasting food, produce especially, and I can blend or cook down stuff and put them in the trays. If I need extra space I pop them out of the trays and into a ziplock after they’re frozen. So easy and help save so much food. Because they’re silicone and flexible it’s easy to pop things out of the trays from the bottom. They can be a bit awkward to clean depending what was in them since the cubes are deep. But nothing a good soak can’t fix. I’ve put tomato sauce and coffee in them and the trays haven’t stained (though the lids have a bit) so I’ll take it as a win.

Residue ut everythimg else is great.
Leaves a thin white residue on every ice cube that comes off into your drink and floats around. Gave it 3 stars though because the cubes areally a perfect square, last longer because of shape, come out easy and the ability to stack them without having water all over is great.

I'm enjoying these ice trays!
I really am enjoying these trays thus far. The silicone is sturdy yet flexible. When filled properly, cubes will pop out individually. Instead of twisting the tray, you must push up from the bottom side for cubes to pop out. My 12-year-old son does it with ease. The lids are great but don't expect them to fight tightly. They are snug enough to keep liquids from splashing out as long as the trays remain upright. The lids also allow you to stack the trays while keeping the ice in them clean. Prior to use, I soaked and hand-washed the trays in hot, soapy water. So far I've not had any type of residue, smell or aftertaste. I'm relieved to know that the $12.97 I spent for these two trays was worth it. So far I've froze water, milk and buttermilk in them for later use. They hand wash easily. I've avoided the dishwasher as I do with all my other silicone, bakeware and cookware. I'll try to remember to update my review once I've had the chance to bake with these.

... one think to make a silicone ice cube tray like this before
Why why why did no one think to make a silicone ice cube tray like this before?! I even have OXO silicone ice cube trays and it's HARD to remove the cubes. These are excellent. I do have a few reasons for taking away a star, though:1) I put the trays in the top rack of the dishwasher (it says they're dishwasher safe) and they got a weird white discoloration.2) The trays are wider than my standard size ice bin, so it's a little hard to get the cubes into the bin.3) The cubes are really big. This is not a problem with the trays, just not my preference.Overall, excellent, though.

Great trays but smell...
I was looking for Silicone ice cube trays with lids. They are ok and do the job as promised. Here are few notes to pay attention:Lids are not locking, they serve like loose coversAfter 12 hours of being in the freezer, 3-5 cubes in the middle of the tray are still water (perhaps something to do with lids) After another 12 hours they turn into ice however.Strong silicone smell. Must wash over and over and use vinegar, baking soda and soap. The smell is still present but thankfully the smell does not transfer into iceOverall I'm happy with trays. Those notes above don't bother me so much, expect for smell I have to deal with.Ice cubes are easy to pop. Good looking cube, medium size. Not too big and not too small.Update almost a year later. Strong silicone odor is still not gone and very strong. I used these tray for baking Brazilian mini breads. The breads cooked nicely, but the bread tasted and smelled nasty silicone smell. I have many other silicone food products and non of them smell like this... perhaps this silicone is either too thick or non food grade silicone. I wouldn't recommend 😱

Ice from these trays make a chopped up whitish film in the glass
These trays cause the water in the glass to be filled with a substantial amount of white filmy squares...between 1/8 and 1/4 inch. I experimented for several days to make sure the film was from the ice cube trays. It is not coming from the glass. So disappointed that the manufacturing of these trays appears to be defective. I am returning these to Amazon and requesting a refund.Clarification Update: as I've said a couple times, am filling trays with tap water in Denver, Colorado, USA. When I fill the glass directly from the faucet, and let the glass sit on the counter for 12-24 hours, there is no film in the glass. The water and glass are clean after the 12-24 hour period, using tap water. When I use tap water PLUS ice from these trays, the large white particles form on the glass and in the water. . The conclusion must be: it is not the water or the glass the water is poured into. Also, not all the trays are made from the same batch of silicone.

Probably the best ice cube trays I've ever used
Probably the best ice cube trays I've ever used. The water does not spill over even though the material is a bit soft compared to a metal or plastic tray. The good news about the tray being soft, it is easy to poke the ice out of the pockets from the back. I just lay one tray at a time over an ice bucket and just push from the back and voila, ice. The covers are very useful for not spilling water all over the place while you transport the trays to the freezer, also helps with the smell. I may be buying another set to have more ice on hand!

Best Ice Cube Trays Ever.
I just got these a couple of days ago and I love them. For those that are saying the ice or whatever is to hard to get out, if you don't fill them all the way they will be hard to get out, You push on the bottom of the tray and the cubes pop right out, you don't twist it, For the person saying it has a funny smell, did you wash them first before you used them? I did and have had no funny smell or taste. The lids stay on for me, you have to press down on the four corners and the edges to get them to seal, when done correctly the water will not leak out or spill if you tip them accidentally while putting them in the freezer
