Ideal for professionals demanding robust, high-capacity storage with fast data throughput. ## Description Western Digital 4TB WD4000FYYZ RE SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Hard Drive from WD is a powerful combination of enterprise-class performance and high capacity required for superior performance computing and business critical environments. The hard drive delivers transfer rates of up to 6 Gbps and high random I/O rates. It is coupled with a dual processor, which provides twice the processing power to maximize performance. The WD RE SATA Hard Drive's enhanced RAFF technology monitors the drive and corrects both linear and rotational vibration in real-time. It thus provides optimum performance even in high vibration environments. It features a head positioning system with two actuators which improves positional accuracy over the data track(s). The multi-axis shock sensor feature automatically detects the subtlest shock events allowing you to protect the data. The WD RE SATA Hard Drive's Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER) feature prevents drive fall-out caused by the extended hard drive error-recovery processes. The NoTouch ramp load technology ensures that the recording head never touches the disk media. This allows significantly less wear to the recording head and media as well as enhanced drive protection in transit. Dynamic fly height technology enables each read-write head's fly height to be adjusted in real-time for optimum reliability. With 64 MB cache, the WD RE SATA Hard Drive ensures faster data transactions. It is ideal for use in servers, video surveillance and other demanding write-intensive applications demanding write-intensive applications. High Performance for Business Critical Applications The hard drive delivers transfer rates of up to 6 Gbps Review: Used Item - Just ordered in Apr 2024 and drive is faulty and after checked, warranty is out. Better to order from China Taobao than desertcart, since seller is selling old stuff. Review: Amazing deal - "new" old stock. - These drives are being hawked all over the place but most are used and at EOL (end of life) service conditions. They may have even started to fail. No so with the one I received. Pros: S.M.A.R.T. status showed zero power-on hours and no defects after the first long SMART test. These are - in-fact - brand new drives from "old" stock. This same drive WD4000FYYZ was picked over the WD Black series for gaming and high data throughput applications by several notable reviewers. It even has the more advanced actuator that the Black series does not use. Designed for stand alone or RAID operation. Vibration is undetectable. Noise level is low enough. On par with WD Black drives. Cons: It's not new from "current" stock so AFAIK WD will not honor the 5 year warranty. Not a 256Mb cache. I didn't buy two of them. :( ## Features - Western digital WD4000FYYZ ENTERPRISE 4TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 internal hard drive - Western digital WD4000FYYZ ENTERPRISE 4TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 60Gb/s 35 internal hard drive ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00CVT9UH2 | | Additional Features | Compact | | Best Sellers Rank | #37,867 in Computers ( See Top 100 in Computers ) #130 in Internal Hard Drives | | Brand | Western Digital | | Built-In Media | Hard Drive | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 64 MB | | Color | Silver | | Compatible Devices | Desktop | | Connectivity Technology | SATA | | Connectivity technology | SATA | | Customer Package Type | Standard Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 255 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 6000 Megabytes Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 4000 GB | | Digital storage capacity | 4000 GB | | Enclosure Material | Metal | | Form Factor | 3.5-inch | | Hard Disk Description | Raid | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 3.5 Inches | | Hard Disk Interface | Serial ATA | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 7200 RPM | | Hard disk form factor | 3.5 Inches | | Hard disk interface | Serial ATA | | Hard-Drive Size | 4 TB | | Hardware Connectivity | SATA 6.0 Gb/s | | Hardware Platform | Mac, PC | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Item Weight | 2 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Western Digital | | Media Speed | Greater than 0 MB/s | | Mfr Part Number | WD4000FYYZ OEM | | Model Name | REu00a0 | | Model Number | WD4000FYYZ OEM | | Number of Items | 1 | | Read Speed | 6 | | Special features | Compact | | Specific Uses For Product | Personal | | UPC | 163120772827 115970718319 806291843766 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Western Digital - **Colour:** Silver - **Compatible devices:** Desktop - **Connectivity technology:** SATA - **Digital storage capacity:** 4000 GB - **Hard disk description:** Raid - **Hard disk form factor:** 3.5 Inches - **Hard disk interface:** Serial ATA - **Installation type:** Internal Hard Drive - **Special features:** Compact ## Images ![RE WD4000FYYZ 4TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive - OEM w/3 Year Warranty - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61z9FzTlrXL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: warranty 5 years?** A: Yes. Drive best used as backup or a server. By design it is too hot and noisey for a home PC. **Q: Hi does this part match apple imac osx 10.5.8 ?** A: This drive should work just fine with your Mac OS. But it depends more on which iMac you have. If you're replacing the existing drive then I would consider going with an SSD instead of a spinning disk. You'll love the performance boost. If you're adding additional storage, be sure your iMac can take the additional full-size drive. **Q: Cmr or smr?** A: The only reference I've found thus far in WD's literature is that they use CMR in their 20 TB drive, and that was listed on their spec sheet covering drives from 1TB to 20 TB. Not sure what the rest are. **Q: I'm thinking of replacing the d: drive in my home pc with this. it mostly has a lot of media files on it and a linux partition. would this good?** A: Yes, and enterprise grade. ## Customer Reviews ### ā Used Item *by G***N on 13 May 2024* Just ordered in Apr 2024 and drive is faulty and after checked, warranty is out. Lots of YouTube videos to help out there. The install itself was as easy as plugging in the SATA cord and power. Your case determines how easy that is. Then secure the drive in your case. Literally less than 10 minutes for my case and it only took that long because I made the wires look nice. The drive works very well. It accesses quickly. The only slight complaint is the drive is somewhat noisy you will hear the clicking as it reads and writes. Part of that is the mounting in my case, part of that is the rest of the computer is almost silent. In a normal case and anywhere there are noisy or background drone from fans, you will not hear it in most instances. The storage capacity is excellent and I will buy at least one more for all the videos we produce. ## Frequently Bought Together - Western Digital WD4000FYYZ ENTERPRISE 4TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 internal hard drive - SABRENT USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-DFLT) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - šŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** ā€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - šŸŒ **Shop Globally** ā€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - šŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** ā€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - šŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** ā€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - šŸ”’ **Secure Payments** ā€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ā **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** ā€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/328976495-re-wd4000fyyz-4tb-7200-rpm-64mb-cache-sata-6-0gb](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/328976495-re-wd4000fyyz-4tb-7200-rpm-64mb-cache-sata-6-0gb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
