Circadian Optics Lumos 10,000 Lux Light Therapy Lamp | Seen On Shark Tank

First-why did I buy it? I battle with insomnia and good sleep hygiene. I live in the north and the sun doesn't rise till quite late and I was spending too much time in bed. Wondered if I had a bit of SAD also so I was motivated to give this a try. I'm still struggling to find the perfect position for the lamp so that I get all the benefits but that will simply be trial and error for the next few days. Benefits-I've only used it for three days but I notice that if I take my blood pressure after using the light-my blood pressure in now normal instead of borderline or high. I presume that is just part of my new routine of visualizing sitting on a warm porch outside watching the sun rise as the world heats up (I also got a space heater). Its the perfect way to start the morning with a positive outlook. I think it is also great to use to support my sleep hygiene routine for insomnia since it gives me incentive to get out of bed at the proper time instead of waiting for the sun to actually come up. I love my new routine! It's easy to use, can be rotated in a multitude of positions so you can figure out what works best for you. It has a very small footprint so it takes up almost no space on my desk. I'm following the directions to gradually bring it closer and increase the amount of time that I use it each morning but I'm already seeing changes in my life and I'll continue using it! Definitely worth trying!

I live in the Pacific Northwest and have experienced low energy during the winter months for years. I’m now in my mid 40’s and noticed a dip in both mood and energy levels already this year and it’s not even officially winter. I began the hunt for a lamp to help with my circadian rhythm that would not cost too much. After much research and reading of many, many reviews, I decided to get this Light Therapy lamp because of its relatively small size, unique design and lower price point. My initial review follows and I plan to update after a few weeks of use. (FYI - See Updates Below) I wanted a light therapy lamp but I didn’t want a chunky light box sitting on my table, especially when not in use, so I really like the slim design of this light. It is also a lot smaller than the typical, bigger light boxes so I appreciate the smaller footprint. I like that the lamp will swivel to get the light stream just right depending on how close I’m sitting, and the ability to choose from three output settings is a nice since I won’t always want/need the high settings when using later in the day. The light also looks sleek when closed, which is a bonus. Even though the lamp is smaller than others in this price range (under $75), I found it to be quite sturdy. I was worried it might look or feel “cheap” but it is actually well built and, dare I say, stylish? Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and hope to see the benefits of using it over the next few weeks. •••11/2/17 UPDATE••• I still love this lamp after a week and a half of use, however I thought I would mention that the lamp is tall and thin and tends to be top heavy if you have the arm with the lamp extended. The product description mentions the lamp being configurable and adjustable to a variety of positions and, though this is true, the lamp is the most sturdy when the light is set up so that the "arm" piece is vertical and close to the body of the lamp. I had this on my night stand and used it to wake up in the mornings but I had problems with the lamp tipping over with the slightest touch do to being top heavy with the arm more extended - which was my preferred set up for early mornings. I still love the lamp but am trying to get used to using it like the picture in the product description, which can be very bright depending on where you are using the lamp. I did not deduct a star as this lamp was still reasonably priced and much more stylish and compact than other light therapy lamps. So this update is more of an FYI for folks who are considering this lamp. FYI - Some reviews and info in the product Q&A mentioned usb charging and/or the ability to use this lamp unplugged via its built in battery. The lamp I received (10/2017) has a normal ac adapter and not a usb cord. It also does not appear to work when unplugged and/or include a battery for use when unplugged. I don’t know where the confusion comes from but I wanted to at least mention this in case someone was expecting to use the lamp wirelessly. Lastly, The brief manual that’s included provides basic instructions, usage info, specifications and a few FAQs. There isn’t a ton of info but it’s enough to get you started. I use this lamp as a makeup light on my desk and it works perfectly; the light is brighter than any makeup-designated light I've used. I also love the sleek, practical design; it can fit anywhere. The ability to rotate and adjust is extremely useful as well. After 6 months of use, I had an issue with the charger, and the customer support experience was outstanding--extremely fast response and resolution. You can tell they deeply value--and care about--their customers.

So I've always been a bit skeptical of these, but after dealing with both SAD and circadian problems, I decided to try it out. I'm not sure about the SAD yet, but it's definitely had a positive effect on my circadian rhythm already. In addition to that, It is SUPER portable. It's small and all you need us the USB cable it comes with and anything that can charge a via a USB cable (it comes with a wall adapter, too!) The design is sleek and easy to use, and it's small enough that I can travel with it without taking up a lot of space. The only downside of the design is that if you aren't careful you can accidentally turn the light back on again when you close it! This is because the power button is touch sensitive and sits right underneath the end of the light when it's closed, but it's easily noticed when you do. The only other downside of the light is the same one that you will find with every light therapy treatment on the market right now: It's really bright! But that's part of the therapy, and you will adjust to it eventually. It also has three different light settings (six if you count the lower tier of light settings available when it isn't plugged in), which is really convenient of you want light therapy but are light sensitive, or work in a space that is already quite dark.

I really like this lamp. I have it beside my computer and I use it every day when I am checking my e-mail or going over the news. It is nice that can be fold it and place it behind my computer. and the best thing, it will be saved from my cats, they usually knock down anything that they find on their way. The light is bright and relaxing. I cannot tell you about the effect because is not being long since I am using it. It is expensive for me. I ordered it but I waited few days to complete the order, and they increase the price, but I need it, so I bought it. I get depressed during the winter, and I hope it help me, but I will update if that happen.

This is a good lamp: bright and adjustable. It does not have a timer but I just use my phone. It has a relatiely heavy base so it stands up reliably unlike most flimsy lamps. it's easy to adjust it from standing up to lying flat pointing up. I don't think it's a great travel option. It uses a country-specific wall wart with a barrel connector, not USB C ( I got a USB C / barrel adaptor). Also the weighted base (an excellent feature) means it's not ultra light. I will leave it at home if I'm just going somewhere overnight, but if I'm checking a bag I'll bring it.

I purchased this product for medical reasons—essentially my sleep schedule was off by 6-7 hours (4am-12pm is my normal sleep time) and the Doctor recommended some items; a light box was one of them. I use this lightbox mainly to get light during the day as to not become tired, but it definitely doubles as a form of "sunlight" during the winter—just in time! It's incredibly minimal with only 1 button to turn it on, switch through the modes, and shut it off; it has a swivel function at the base to keep it upright when in use, and compact when not. The product is bright enough to fill my office space (about the size of a master bedroom) with light when no other light source is available. There are 3 levels of brightness, and I enjoy all levels of it, especially the brightest—It's not too harsh, though it could be for others. I do feel more "energized" after turning it on in the afternoons, or some mornings once I come in (this could all be a placebo effect, as I don't have true way of testing my energy levels); I'm also not as tired as I used to be, before I had this light added to my office. I think it's fairly light in weight, but still probably weighs about 5-7lbs. Shipping was quick and easy, no problems there. I can't comment on whether this is a value for the money as I own no products to compare it to. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightbox of this magnitude.

Even though this light is about one-eighth the vertical size of my floor lamp, it puts out more (adjustable) light! It's small, easy to maneuver, and provides several lighting options.

Not returnable item whereas the roductnpage clearly mentions 10days returnable. It's a waste for me now. Product description doesn't mention about the side effects mentioned in the manual.
