No troubles. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well enough, which is better than others *by M***. on February 20, 2024* There seem to be two types of these converters: this "old school" one with a metal case and external power supply, and the new style with a small plastic case and "get your own" usb adapter. I had one of the first type for a few years, using it to convert an S-video output on an older DVD player to HDMI. It worked very well but died finally last year, going intermittent. I'd no complaints since I'd picked it up around 2010 or so from a friend's company who imported and badged them. Now after setting up a new TV without composite inputs I needed to get something so I could still connect our old VCR for the occasional legacy media viewing, and tried one of the new cheapo plastic converters requiring an extra USB power adapter. Nice audio, no video-- just blue screen. I think they're made for gamer kids and not older AV gear. So I returned it and got this one, and it works as well as my old one and resembles it quite closely. I think there is an original set of tooling and boards everyone used to make these at one time and this still has that. It does the job, audio is perfect and video as good as can be expected from VHS. My only complaint is that the power supply cord is like a foot long, so I had to fool around with extension cords.
