Given that I cannot afford the Ultra HD projectors with 5K lumens, this one does work just fine.We use it as a livingroom tv and yes, the picture is better at night, and yes, you do need to put up blackout curtains to try to limit the daylight during the day. But it looks great. Throws a 8ft by 8ft image from 15 feet away.If you got $2,000 to buy the real deal, then good for you. Otherwise, buy this.

This was purchased to replace a failing projector ceiling mounted in a home theater system.Pro:The picture is fantastic, bright and rich sharp colors. Quick warm up time. Longer advertised bulb life than the one that it replaced.Con;Fan is a bit louder.The projector projects 1 part above the projector, and 6 parts below, when ceiling mounted, This means, if you have a screen 70" high, 10" is projected above the center line of the lens and 60" below. This means that the projector needs to be mounted 10" or more below the ceiling the ceiling to have a keystone free image. In out theater, we already have a low ceiling, and putting it at the proper mounting location simply hangs the projector too low where it could be walked into. As a result, we have a bit of keystone.

Beautifully bright, shows color PERFECTLY and the backdrop doesn't have to be white. It showed you tube clips on my green wall. Very bright. Yes the fan is a little loud, it takes a while to cool down but it's a wonderful projector. If you're too worried about it over heading put a little desk fan next to the vent.
