We purchased this grab to help with ease of access into our bathtub after a major abdominal surgery for one of our family members. It has met every one of our expectations. If you’re back and forth on whether or not to install one, just do it… it’s worth it.

The handle bars do an excilent job per design. The bars themselves are rough on the edges such that one has to file the rough edges down to put the rings and covers on the bars.

This bar mounts to the wall with anchors. Because it uses anchors, it is very securely attached and can hold a lot of weight. Installing this bar required only 4 tools, a pencil, a drill and a screw driver and a stud finder with electrical alert.This bar is 12" in length. For strength, I wanted at least one of the attachments to be mounted in a stud. As studs are typically 16" apart, I had a choice of mounting this bar vertically or at an angle, with only the higher attachment mounted in a stud and the lower attachment mounted with the wall anchors. I used my stud finder to locate the studs in the wall I was attaching, and verifying I was not going to drill into an electrical cable. Installation took about 15 minutes, most of that time was me being careful.The result is that I have an extremely strong attachments for my bathtub grab bar. There is no chance that when I apply my weight to it, that it can become detached from the wall.This bar is made with plenty of hand clearance and is super strong itself. I have 100% confidence that this bar is going to do its job for well beyond my lifetime.I am very happy with this bar, it even looks good in my shower. I give it 5 stars!

Please use some common sense when installing this. First off this needs to be installed on a stud. Anything less and it WILL come off the wall. This is great for those that need just a little bit of help when getting up off the toilet or getting out of the shower. This will help provide the stability that some need.

The mounting apparatus punched thru. I had to supply my own toggle bolts. So there was that added expense and drive to the hardware store. But now that it is installed, I like it.
