That a deal! As teacher we have to buy many of our own supplies. I have been paying four times the amount of these dowels. These will get me through next school year, science, puppets, masks, and crafts oh my!

Perfect size for my project.

Item too short for crafts .....I could'nt find a longer one

The first sentence said they were 3mm by 12 inches long. The last sentence said they were 3mm by 4 inches long. The reviews said they were 8 inches long and almost 4mm in diameter. I was in a rush and wanted 12 inches long by 3mm diameter. I got something around 3.5 mm diameter and 4 inches long. Found an other use for them but had to reorder 8 inch long skews which are suppose to be 3mm. 3mm = .118-.119 diameter. Wise me luck waiting for them to come in.

So, I bought the 3mm 8 inch dowels with a specific purpose in mind. For this purpose, I only needed 50 of the 60 the pack came with. Which was lucky for me, because the remaining 10 were damaged and one was completely broken right out of the packaging. So, I you need more than 50, I'd recommend getting more than just one pack, because you'll have damaged ones. Other than that, many of them required a little sanding, to prevent splinters, so, if you are using them for a long term project where you'll be handling them a lot, I'd get sandpaper as well. Otherwise, they work, also, keep in mind they are not all perfectly straight, so if that's something that bothers you, I'd look else where. Mine, are also a little less than 8 inches long too.
