Perfect for fitting Nikon lenses on my Sony Nex-7
I bought the small Sony Nex-7 because I was tired of hauling my Nikon around. But I wanted to keep a couple of my specialty Nikon lenses, even tho they look monstrous attached to the Sony. This lens adapter works flawlessly, once I figured out how to remove the lens from it (slide the nurled nob back and forth, don't press it in). The camera electronics are not going to come thru the adapter (auto focus, aperture control, etc.)to the lens, but that is of little import because I use my Nikon lenses for landscape work, where manual focus and aperture is easy. The "red line" Sony manual focus assist does come through (be sure to enable the "release w/o lens" function in your "settings" menu, so that your non-Sony lens will be functional). A soldily built accessory, good value for the money.

Does exactly what it should
Love this adapter. With several vintage Nikon lenses laying around for about 30 years, I wanted to expand my lens options on my little Sony E camera. This is a manual lens adapter. For those expecting it to allow autofocus, you have to pay for that. This solidly made adapter is simply a mechanical adapter which opens up a library for anyone that either wants to retrofit their digital camera with great vintage film lenses still out there or modern lenses in other sizes. As a minimalist/environmentalist I think it's great to have so many options. If you're just dipping your toes into switching out lenses, love to shoot manual with the charm of older lenses, you can't beat the price. It's slightly tricky to take it on and off but just be gentle with your camera and it will work. I can't speak for automatic lens adapters as I shoot mostly manually for product and nature photography I'm happy with this brand and love that they have a lot of options and that it wasn't a hardsell on the price if my lenses didn't work out. Thanks Fotodiox for giving me a reason to pull out my 1990's Nikon lens collection. The Fuji X mount adapter is in my cart next so I can continue to play.

Not bad for the price.
I bought this adapter along with the Fotodiox adapter for minolta lenses for use with my NEX-5N. The adapter is well made and works. You can remove the tripod mount if you wanted to by unscrewing the two screws that attaches it to the adapter. I would rate it higher but there is some movement between the Nikon lens I attached and the adapter. It doesn't move a whole lot but is kind of annoying. There isn't any play between the NEX and the adapter though. A side note, the Minolta adapter to nex adapter I bought from Fotodiox doesn't have any play.

Adapter for using Nikon FD manual focus lens on NEX-7
The adapter works with my Nikon 50mm f/1.8, 28mm f/3.5. It click onto the camera body and the lenses securely. It is about an inch thick. But I think that is due to the optics requirement of the SLR lens. The tripod attachment could be removed by unscrewing two screws at the bottom. I put a piece of black electrical tape over the two screw holes to prevent any light leak. It is functional and inexpensive.

It works great, quality seems great, releases easy
I want to say I like the adapter, it looks great, mounted nicely to my Nikon lens and my Sony A6000. You do have to change the mode on the Camera since new cameras know what lens they have attached (computers at so smart) It works well and fits right so far, no image issues that I can tell. And it releases very easy (I was worried because of reviews) I believe that people are pushing or pulling the release, when in fact you pivot it back toward the camera to release.

5 stars for the price.
I just picked this up for the Sony A7RII so I could use my Nikon lenses. If you're thinking of doing the same. Here's what you should consider. 1. This obviously does not allow autofocus. A great deal of the cameras features are disabled when in manual focus mode. 2. Do your lenses have aperture control rings on the outside? If yes, then you're good. If no... then consider this. My Tokina 11-16 mm lens did NOT have an aperture control ring. When it's taken off the camera body, the aperture closes down to whatever the minimum is (f22) or something. In order to use this lens with this adapter... I have to jam a piece of trash in the lever to keep it from closing down. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten an adapter with an aperture control ring, some of which are only like 20 dollars more. Build is solid. I don't feel any loosening. The release mechanism is a bit awkward, but it'll do. I thus far have not noticed any issues with the images or focus. For the price, this get's 5 stars because it simply works.

It was an excellent fit & works fine
I bought this for my Sony NEX6 camera to adapt my older Nikon lenses. It was an excellent fit & works fine. The price was great compared to many other brands I was looking at. @ much higher prices. I am very happy with my choice. These can be purchased for just about any combination of lenses & camera adaptations. I would recommend this .

Affordable way to put Nikon Glass on a Sony
Very affordable item. The build is solid. No frills and all manual operation, but if you have a lot of Nikon lenses and are comfortable running manually, this is a good way to put that glass into service on the Sony. If you only have very lightweight Sony bodies and have some heavy Nikon lenses that you want to use with a tripod, then selecting an adapter with its own tripod mount may be better unless the lenses have their own tripod mount. For my lightweight Sony a5000 and a5100 I think the lens mount in the camera would break before the Fotodiox adapter would even flex - weakness of those cameras and not the adapter.
