I bought these because they appeared to be solid replacements for similar glasses I have owned that were made by a major manufacturer--my old coffee mugs had broken over the years (accidents happen) and I was down to one of one size, and two of another; it was a mismatched 'collection' in need of an update. I was impressed by the quality when these glasses arrived; there was no large rubber plug in the bottom like you see in similar products made by other manufacturers, so these glasses sit flat; the glass is perfectly shaped; no defects, imperfections or areas that appear unusually thin, fragile or uneven. When I washed them before use one slipped from my wet fingers and bounced on its side, rolling around the sink until retrieved -- No chips/cracks or breaks. But please keep in mind these are brittle like any glass product; just because borosilicate glass handles temperature changes better than regular glass, these will break. Even though my 'close-call' shows me that these are durable, please don't be tempted to equate ruggedness with unbreakability. These glasses fit my hand perfectly--they feel solid without being heavy; they keep cold beverages cold/hot drinks hot. My first shipment arrived with one broken glass--a transit casualty; the company responded immediately and I had a replacement within a day -- Excellent product/excellent service -- Quality + Service + Great Price = Real Value -- I couldn't be happier!
