Best sleeping pad for the money
I have had the Fox Outfitters Ultralight Sleeping Pad for 3 months and have slept on it over 15 nights including a backpacking trip in the Bighorns. Long story short, this is the best sleeping pad you can buy for this price, anywhere. I spent 5+ hours researching for a compact and light self-inflating sleeping pad at a reasonable price and finally decided on this one for $50. In my opinion, self inflating (open cell foam) pads are the best all-around type of sleeping pad. They are comfier and more compact than hard (closed cell) foam pads, but they are warmer and easier to set up than air pads. Setup is simple: unroll the pad, open the air valve, wait 10-20 minutes, add 2 or 3 of your own deep breathes and close the valve. I chose the Fox Ultralight Pad because this is one of the few self-inflating sleeping pads that is meant to be folded in half for storage while still being an inch and a half thick. Folding it in half also makes it easier to roll up and get all the air out of the pad. Combine that with the mummy shape and diamond cutouts in the foam and you get a very light and compact, comfortable sleeping pad. Thermarest makes sleeping pads that compact even more than this one and may be slightly more comfy, but they will cost more than twice as much as this pad. Some self-inflating pads have brass valves, but this one has a plastic valve. However, the valve seems very durable as long as you aren't stomping on it with your boots. But you shouldn't have your boots in the tent anyways! The outer material of this pad is thin to help make it light and compact, but still seems plenty strong. This pad comes with a small patch kit but I have not needed to use it. At the time of writing this review, the item happens to be out of stock. If this is still the case, I also strongly encourage you to consider the Fox Lightweight Series Self Inflating Pad! This pad is the same price and of the same quality but orange colored, has smaller cutouts in the foam, and is rectangular instead of mummy shaped. Because of this, it is a little heavier than the ultralight green pad. You also do not fold this pad in half for storage, which gives it a profile that is twice as long but slightly slimmer than the green ultralight pad. However, this makes it easier to store on the outside of your backpack if you need extra room in the main compartment. My only complaint about the Fox self-inflating pads is that the material on them is quite slippery, and it kept sliding out from under me if I moved around in my hammock, but if you are in a tent on flat ground you'll be fine!

Small, but adequate
This pad is very narrow and made of lower quality material than other pads I have purchased. The first picture is of the Fox pad laying on top of the previous pad I was using which is made by Decathlon and is about $48 from Walmart. The Decathlon pad is around 26" wide. Unfortunately, my dog made a hole in that pad which is why I purchased the Fox pad. I use the pad to increase comfort when sleeping on a couch. The smaller, Fox pad is ideal for this purpose. It has stayed well-inflated after several weeks of use. I had to inflate it by mouth for the initial use, and that takes a bit of effort. It does not self-inflate. It is small though, so that makes inflating it less burdensome than a larger pad would be. I tried laying on it while on the floor and it was comfortable. I didn't sink to the floor while laying on it. I think it would be ideal for backpacking because it is very small and lightweight. The only thing would be to make sure there aren't any sharp sticks or rocks under your tent because the material from which this pad is made is not sturdy enough to withstand sharp objects. The feel of the material from which this pad is made is similar to the type of pad one would use as a flotation device in a swimming pool. That is the closest analogy I can give to how cheap the material feels. In fact, the plastic used for swimming pool floaty toys is probably thicker than that of this sleeping pad. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and this pad is satisfactory for how it is being used. Now if I can just keep it away from the dog...

Suited my needs
Hiked 5 days on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). Suited my needs for a lightweight, compact, easy set up sleeping pad. Comfortable. One night I slept on a rock and didn't even notice. Easy to inflate. I added a few extra puff's for firm pad, yet the self inflate is bomb.com.Length was good. I did the regular. I'm 6'1". My feet might of hung over, however I didn't notice. The compact size is a bit large, however I have only found one pad that was smaller, which got a leak, hence this purchase.I wanted a lightweight, easy to set up, sleeping pad, and it suited my needs just fine.

Good work.
It works, it's comfortable. But after a few uses it wont fill as well as it does in the first 10 uses. Not extra light but will make a light enough bag for multiple days camping-hiking

great purchase.
This mat is fantastic. I haven't used it yet, but I bought it for the purpose of using it when I'm backpacking. It's very light and fold down and rolls up to about 6 inches in diameter and about 8-10 inches long. I owned a thermarest that was the basic model (heavy, bulky, not so comfortable) and wanted something thicker and that can compress to occupy a smaller space when rolled up. This mat is almost double the thickness of my old mat and much lighter. This mat came with two elastic bands to help keep the mat rolled up when compressed, and a repair kit. I am very satisfied with this mat and am looking forward to using it.
