I am always on the lookout for curl defining gel. This product is very light-weight and has a pleasant floral-sweet scent. The scent is natural smelling and not overwhelming at all.This serum is intended for anyone with curly hair. I have blond, dry, curly hair and I like how this defines my curls without being heavy or crunchy.I do wish that they would list the ingredients. I am just a little apprehensive because the ingredients and instructions are only listed in Korean on the packaging. I went to their website Jenny House Dot Com and there is also not an English language ingredient list.I believe this product is designed for Asian-type hair, but it is also good for anyone with curly hair or various nationalities.

This is a great curl defining serum for my hair. I have been using this Hydro Keratin Curl Serum from Jenny House along with the Self Up Volume Treatment from the same brand, and this actually is far more volumizing. I don't even need the volume treatment, so I just use that once a week or so for my scalp. My hair is long and baby fine, oily at the roots and dry & brittle on the ends. I wash it every day because it looks so limp, flat and greasy otherwise. Sometimes I get away with washing it every other day if I have slept with my hair in a silk cap. Using this serum helps give my hair enough volume to survive to that next day. My hair is wavy, and it takes a curl readily enough but doesn't hold it very well unless I use a lot of hair spray. Then it gets frizzy and my hair gets hopeless tangled. This serum really helps with detangling after a shampoo and the curls look smooth and moisturized. I wash my hair at night, apply a small amount of this serum (about a dime-size dollop) and once it is almost dry, I use a heatless roller -- my hair has strong curls the first day with no frizzy ends and looser curls the next day. I don't blow-dry my hair and I only rarely use hot rollers these days. I don't use this serum every time I wash my hair -- just when I want curls the next day (otherwise I just put my hair up in a bun). The current price of $15.00 seemed a bit high to me initially since the tube contains just a little over five ounces. However, this works on my hair exactly as described and I only need a small amount to get the results I want, so I find the cost quite reasonable after all. I am glad I found this product, and I will certainly buy it again.

I ordered this product in hopes of adding it to my occasional curly girl routine as a step between wet hair and mousse. I had hoped this would provide some added softness to occasionally crunchy curls. I'm not sure if I used this product properly because I can't read Korean and the instructions are only in that language.The product is a gel, it smells intensely of alcohol with a slight citrusy scent. It is tacky and dries in damp hair quickly. In fact, it dried so quickly I was afraid to put mousse on top of it and ended up blow drying my hair straight.I could not discern any added benefit from this product. Once my hair was dry it was not noticiably softer or shinier. I didn't notice any negative results either, though.The smell and texture of this product are very reminiscent of late 80s early 90s hair gel that we all used for the "scrunched" effect.I wouldn't recommend this. I feel like if the instructions were printed in more than one language I might have had a better idea how to use it. But overall it did nothing but waste time adding an extra step to the already cumbersome process of my morning routine.

My sisters both have naturally very curly hair while I have only slight waves. I actually tried this Hydro Keratin Curl Serum to see if it would help give me more waves like some other products I use. It really doesn't help at all. It is lightweight and easy to apply but I don't get any additional waves or definition. I gave it to one of my sisters who certainly doesn't need more curls but likes to define them and have her hair look shiny and curls look full without being overly poufy. She tried this product and said that she got some definition of her curls and her hair was not greasy or oily but she didn't really love the results. She uses Rusk Wired now and it works much better to define and tame her curls and make her hair look very healthy. This isn't a bad product but I think it would be best for someone in between me with slight waves and my sister with a full head of coily curls. It doesn't really do what either of us hoped it would.

I think this curl serum would work better for someone with really defined curls that just need moisture and something to keep them from getting frizzy. I have wavy hair so I need something that really makes my curls hold and take shape. This doesn’t leave my hair crunchy at all, but it doesn’t really hold my waves very well. I have been mixing it with another curl gel that’s a bit too strong and that gives me a good balance of hold and softness. This has a light scent but nothing that lingers a long time. It’s a pretty big tube so it’s a good amount of product for the price.

The order comes with a squeeze bottle of the serum in 150 ml size. The product comes wrapped in plastic and the dispensing hold also comes sealed so it's pretty secured. The curl serum is in clear watery gel type consistency. The instructions are written in the back of the tube, but in Korean. It says to use the product on damp hair then use the hair styling tools with heat like a hair dryer or curler to style your hair. The product feels lightweight and it helps define your curls in variety of ways. I smell a little bit of orange/floral scent which is pleasant.

I am happy that I have tried this. I was unsure about the texture of this serum, but later on, it revealed a soft yet, well-defined curl pattern. At first, I was disappointed to not have the big hair look I tried to get when styling. However, this is better. I was napping a little while today and the curl/wave remained. If I want bigger hair I will mix this with a tiny bit of moisturizing hair gel, and scrunch. I am amazed that this is creating a shag haircut look because I do not have to overwork the lower sides of my layered hairstyle. Great camouflage for a bad haircut.
