Very happy with this purchase
This was simple to set up. The instructions that accompany are easy to follow, and have a wealth of information for maintaining and operating the generator. I added the included motor oil, hooked up the battery, put a couple gallons of premium fuel in the tank, selected full choke, hit the start button, and it was running in about two seconds. Very impressive. We live in the country with a well for our water supply. That makes electricity critical to our comfort in a power outage. We built our house with the separate breaker box and hookups for a generator, so only had to plug the unit in and flip the switch. We loaded up every circuit possible, and didn't challenge this generator in the least. I watched the Hz readout closely, and it remained constant at 60-62 Hz, so we are comfortable using our electronics while this is running. After running the house for a couple of hours to test everything, I hooked up a 100# LP tank, switched the fuel source, selected 1/2 choke, and it started instantly. As far as how it runs, I could not tell the difference between gas and LP. The main reason we wanted a dual fuel unit, is if there is an extensive power outage, gasoline could be hard to aquire, and if we try to store it in bulk, it can be expensive, and unsafe in or near the house. Add to that how gas deteriorates after only a short time, and propane looks much better. For now, we have a storage building that is off grid, so the generator will be used for lights and the tractor block heater, and be readily available if we lose power at the house. We also ordered and installed a Gentent to protect it when running outdoors.

Happy
This generator works great and is easy to use. I think this is a quality tool. 8-24-2022, I wanted another longer propane hose for back up. I ordered without understanding that the hose Champion offers does work. It attaches to the 5 foot hose that the generator comes with and acts as an extension. When I emailed them asking what the deal was they replied within 2 hours to my email explaining the design. I still will order another hose but they did me a solid by responding so quickly to explain to my silly ass how this works. Good customer service!!!

Great little mobile power house! Runs my whole house no problem!
1st off this thing is awsome had a electrician setup a transfer switch this thing is able to run my whole house no problem we live in california and PG&E has decided to shut off our power whenever the wind blows hard enough to blow a leaf off a tree so this is a must because everything in our house runs on electricity this thing runs our well water heater swamp cooler and everything else we got going I wish it had a bigger breaker 30amp seems a bit weak wish it was a 50 amp but it gets the job done every once in awhile I'll run the microwave two burners on the stove and the well kicks in it will pop the breaker on the generator and I gotta go out and reset it but most of the time I forget we're running on a generator I almost bought a 10000watt chinease generator when I talked to the electrician putting in the transfer switch he said if something happens to the generator good luck trying to find parts for it or someone willing to work on it but with champion almost any small engine shop can get parts or work on them worth the higher price in the long run something I had not thought about

Powerful but Noisy
I had occaision to run this generator on BBQ propane bottles during a 16 hour power outtage during a record snowstorm in Northern Arizona. Like any product, it has its pros & cons. The Pros are signficant. It is VERY powerful. I ran our whole house, all breakers on including a large propane furnace. No problem whatsoever. I never worried about our electronics...Usage was fairly intuitive and electric start made starting pretty much a breeze. I have not tried the recoil start yet.As for the cons, first and foremost, I found it noisy. In the website write-up, Champion states that its no louder than a household vacuum. I call BS on this claim. It is noiser than my gas powered lawn mower. So just know that going in. Also, the control panel has so many recepticles and breakers and switches, it could get confusing. This is a blessing and curse: versatility brings with it a bit of complexity. Also, it is quite heavy. Luckily is designed with a strong frame, wheels and a large sturdy handle. But just know its heavy. Finally fuel usage. For some reason its more fuel efficient when running gasoline than propane (8 hrs on full tank vs 5 hrs on (I think) BBQ propane bottle). I'll back that up: I got approx 5 hours on and off on a BBQ propane bottle. Really no complaints here, just bringing out some real world usage. So, bottom line, this will run your house, fairly conveniently and REALLY is a plus during a power outtage in 20 degree temperatures.

Waited years and finally pulled the trigger.
I have been looking at a lot of options when getting a generator. I thought about commercial grade but they cost tons of money. My home is mostly ran on propane so my power requirements are far less than some. I was busting at the seams to try it and forgot to put the oil in it. OMG I flipped and was so happy they put in a oil safety switch to keep it from starting. It saved me for sure right out of the box. Figured out my stupidity and topped it off. Then it started right up. This will run my entire house with the exception of my Dryer. OK, I literally had everything in the house on, Freezer and Refrigerator doors open to ensure they were pulling power. Coffee pot turned on, all lights and the washing machine running. When I kicked on the dryer it hit overload. OK, max test. I turned off all the stuff you would typically live with. The unit pulled the load with the dryer running. I love it. Now I am looking at ways of quieting it down with an after market muffler so it does not upset the neighbors during power outages.

Not compatible with modern electronics computers etc...
Not compatible with electronics computers etc... This generator produces a poor electrical output for modern electronics. Model number 201176 has an inverter and produces a cleaner output for electronics.
