3rd + Fairfax Beauty - Argan Rose Facial Oil, Nourishing, Moisturizing, and Rejuvenating Face Care for Dull and Dry Skin, 2 Oz

I love rose scented products, but a cheap rose oil can really smell rank. Unfortunately this oil has just such a scent. I love argon oil but I’m giving this one a pass.

I am in my late 40's with dry, sensitive skin made more so by my employment as a swim instructor and coach. I have found that my skin reacts well to oils but lately have found that companies are actually sending oils that are mostly a cheaper carrier oil instead of the one listed. Unfortunately, this is the case with this oil. The first ingredient is soybean oil. The argan and rose oils are listed but must be a fraction of the ingredients because this oil feels and smells like soybean oil. It is a very pale gold color and smooths into skin easily. Although soybean oil is good for dry skin, it is also known to cause breakouts and my skin will not tolerate it.The packaging is nice, a frosted brown glass bottle with a plastic seal around the neck. The dropper is long and makes it easy to dispense oil one drop at a time.Just wish the listing were more accurate.

The 3rd + Fairfax Argan Rose Facial Oil was oilier than I expected. I use facial oils as a regular part of my beauty regimen, and this one is OILY. I do not feel that it absorbed well into my skin, even using only a few drops for my whole face. I first washed and rinsed my face with barely warm water, and then used a rosewater toner. While the toner was still damp, I applied a few drops of this facial oil. It seemed to create an oily film on my skin that did not soak in. I wiped it off with a cloth, and still could feel the remains.The dropper is nice, and the scent is OK. I received this free through the Vine program, and I am glad I did not spend money on a product I cannot use without feeling greasy.

One of its main ingredients may be rose oil, but the rose fragrance is not there. There is a slight scent that is sweet, but it is not rose.It is an okay oil, but there are better quality oil combinations out there. One of them is another--very similar--3rd & Fairfax Facial Oil. It is called "Rose & Vitamin E". It does have a nice rose fragrance, a lighter and more absorbent oil and a longer and thinner dropper.
