Works like magic!
The first time I tried wine away was when a bottle of homemade red wine gifted to me continued to ferment in the bottle, blew the cork out and sprayed the contents across my white carpeting. A friend recommended it when I mentioned that I had tried everything to get out the stains - and it worked! A few weeks ago I used the last of that bottle when someone knocked over a glass of red wine onto a Persian rug. Again it worked its magic and there is no trace of a stain. It's easy to use following the bottle directions, a 12-ounce bottle lasts nearly forever, and it has saved me hundreds of dollars compared to having things professionally cleaned.

Works the best on carpets vs. anything else I've used for chili & wine stains.
Our house has a lot of white carpets ... we love how they make everything look more open and airy but unfortunately, mishaps occur with red colored foods/liquids. The bottom line is that I've used a lot of different cleaning products to remove stains from our light colored rugs and furniture and this works the best! It may take a couple rounds before it removes the stains completely ... but it does work like magic. Though this is probably more expensive than it should be ... it's less expensive than buying new rugs, which is why we always have a bottle on hand. The trick is, you need to use this immediately after spilling something ... and you need to work fast. (which is why I don't have before/after pictures to show) Another suggestion ... don't worry about using too much. I usually go through at least a half a bottle for even a small stain. Yes, your mind will try to use as little as possible to save money ... but don't think about that. Use a lot and get the stain out! The last mishap we had was when my wife spilled an entire bowl of chili on the expensive oriental area rug in the dining room. After wiping off the chunky part with a wet rag, the rug was covered with a huge red/orange stain and splatter marks. We slid some paper towels under the rug because this will soak through, which could damage the finish of the hardwoods beneath. Do not use this anywhere near marble or stone ... or, it will etch causing discoloration. We then saturated the stained areas and splash marks with this. After a few minutes, we dabbed the spot with a paper towel until it felt dry and the stain lightened. We repeated the process three times ... each time, the stain got lighter until it disappeared and looked like it was never even there. Seriously, completely gone on a white rug. We used almost a full bottle, but saved a $500 rug. I have also treated red wine stains countless times. I have not used this on furniture/upholstery ... only carpets. We'll never be without a bottle on hand. The bottles used to come in more of a Windex-style pump bottle ... now it's a smaller spritz bottle. We take the top off and dump it on the stains. You also used to get a lot more for half the price. However, I can't complain too much because it's got us out of a lot of jams. It does have a slight citrus smell to it, which doesn't seem to transfer into the rug for more than a few hours.

USE BEFORE APPLYING OTHER PRODUCTS - solid product if used properly, with care & patience
Here is my recent 11/2019 negative review on Natures Miracle Dark Stain remover which is a good review for this awkwardly-beloved product in use now more than 2 years: I wanted to try something that came in a bigger bottle that the product I've been using with great success for a couple years since I stumbled across it Thanks God. But alas, this was a total flop on fresh but dried blood. I was not impressed with this "miracle" so I got a refund, and went back to Wine-Away - at a seemingly pricey $6.00 with Sub & Save for the smaller bottle and only found on Amazon. That said it has never failed to take out any red stain I had - even very dried, seemingly set in blood stains on a guest mattress - so now I see it is well worth the price, and to not complain when it runs out too quickly. Anyway I do tend to douse things too thoroughly with impatience a factor so this is a lesson to use less and wait more :) Since the first review below, I have indeed been successful with old dried blood and red Popsicle (the worst habit as they drip!) as well as all kinds of unknown red to black stains. It is truly best to use it before any other cleaner, and for older stains to let it soak in and rest over night WITH the product- dampened cloth pressed down and covering the stain! With a more recent "fresh" stain, or for clothing follow the bottle instructions to blot it repeatedly. I have had to repeatedly spray and blot, spray and blot for 8-10 times in a row over 5 minutes but it did get tough well set stain out of delicate light colored fabric without destroying the clothes. Be patient and don't go off thinking it is not working or it is too much for too little as I did!!! Original 2017 review: My conclusion is to use it before you use any other cleaner. At bedtime I sprayed it on previously untreated (and old) red Popsicle stains and sooty black stains on white parts of wool carpet, and I did not rub or scrub. In the morning ALL those stains were 100% gone. I tried it next on white cotton furniture where red Popsicle stains had been previously treated with cleaners and those did not come out. I used it on a blue cotton blouse right after a red wine stain dried, left til the next day and it worked. It is nice to not have to scrub at fabrics, because that just makes then look scrubbed even if the stain is gone.

only faded the stain
I was excited about getting this because of the reviews and an online recommendation. However, this product just did an okay job on a wine stain that had already been treated a few weeks earlier. The remainder of the stain only faded a little more. What actually worked to delete the stain was the application of Hydrogen Peroxide with dish soap directly on top. After applying this to my fabric two separate times for two different washes, I was able to completely fade the stain. Maybe this product will work better on a fresh stain that is less than 24 hours old.

This Product Works!!!
Fabulous product! Recently had to remove red wine stain from antique satin chairs. The wine was removed and left no evidence of the mishap. Many thanks,
