Putting an untreated spark plug into your engine can cause it to freeze into place so when you try to remove it damage can occur to the engine threads. Permatex Nickel is designed to provide lubrication in high temperature areas such as an engine (Silver and Copper versions are for lower temperature applications so read the labels). Put a little dab on the spark plug, run your finger around making sure there is only enough to fill the threads. Always use a torqure wrench when putting in plugs. A 3/8" drive covering 10 lbs to 80lbs will cover pretty much everything. With this Permatex product, easy in and easy out!

To say I was pissed off would be a huge understatement! At over $17 a bottle I would not be ordering this stuff if I did not have a specific need and need it now! So, for the idiot with Amazon that packed it, YOU DO NOT PACK A LIQUID IN A PAPER ENVELOPE EVEN IF SLIGHTLY PADDED! Worse, I was in my car and stopped at the mail box. Then I smelled something. Opened the envelope (right and once again, not a box) and the cap had come off with crap everywhere! I was so lucky (and so was Amazon) I had paper towels in the car and was able to keep this crap off my seats and carpet! This stuff is meant to protect metal to metal threads at heats over 2000 degrees! You think I would have ever gotten that off my car? So to the moron that packed this, and/or to the morons that approve packing this product this way, you need to find some place else to work because, well, because you are morons!
