Zocalo Organic Mesquite Flour
Just made my first low-carb fruitcake cookie recipe using this flour. I have used mesquite flour before and it brings a spiced, "smoky" taste to fruit cakes and fruit cookies. This product from Peru tasted pretty much as I expected, but the "smoky" flavor is a bit more intense (using 4 Tbsp. per recipe) than what I've used before. Not necessarily a bad thing, and was not at all unpleasant in my regular Christmas cookie recipe, so I'm pleased it will serve my needs in future baking. I may just use a little less of it in the recipe in future. The company I used to buy this from has gone out of business and I cannot find it locally, so I will use this product again when I run out.

Favorite new ingredient in ages!
I bought this to make the mesquite chocolate chip cookies from 101 Cookbooks, and it's spectacular. Added a whole new depth of flavor to the cookies, and I'm excited to see what else I can use it for. Super recommended.

Delicious Chocolate Chip CookiesI made a recipe from David Lebovitz using this flour--delicious!The cookies are really tasty--the mesquite adds a very interesting cinnamon flavor, but with something else in there that is unique and very yummy. I will definitely be using this again.

Majestic Mesquite flour
The mesquite flour when added to a pancake batter, gives the pancakes a sweet flavor such that you almost never need syrup. It gives pancakes character, with an explosion of flavor unlike any other. Highly recommended.

Just ok
The flour is soft. Smells just a little like caramel. Did not notice much of a difference on flavor in my Choco chip cookies.

Really great in brownies!
It’s got a nice warm smell and sort of chocolate flavor. I made some wings with it as a coating and it tasted good. I added it to cacao to make brownies and it tasted great.

Slightly sweet and nutty flavor
Was looking for alternatives to gluten. Discovered Mesquite flour/powder has no gluten and also has a lower glycemic index. Substitutes about 30 % with my flax meal/chia blend mug bread recipe. Like the slightly sweet caramel/nutty taste.
