A Family of her Own (Second Chance Regency Romance)

A good read.
A nice story, could have been a bit more exciting. Mostly about friendship and growing up but enjoyable. Don't think I would rush to read the story again as it was so predictable as to what would happen.

Happily ever after
Sophie and Claveston's story was a delight to read. These days it seems that young couples can pretty much do as they please but in the early 19th century young men and women had to be chaperoned until they were married. It was wonderful to see Sophie and Claveston find their happily ever after.

Entertaining romance
Sophie Lefebvre has been a companion but now it’s time to move so she accepts the position as governess to the pompous Claveston St. John, Earl of Wycliff’s sister, Gertrude. Claveston, was smitten the moment he laid eyes on Lady Tate’s companion at the wedding of his good friend, William Pierce. When in jest he offered her a job as his sister’s governess, he never imagined she would accept. However, now that she has, he is determined to win her. However, that is easier said the done. This is the third book in the series & is easily read on its own. However if like me you love series then I’d recommend reading from the beginning, we met Sophie in the previous books so I was thrilled she has her story. A well written, easy to read, entertaining book. The characters are well portrayed & have depth. I loved Sophie who is calm & sophisticated, Claveston gradually changed from a self centred dandy to a caring, loving man. Their road to a HEA had twists & turns plus obstacles but it did make for an absorbing read. I must mention Gertrude who was a very spoiled but in some ways neglected & immature teenager, whilst at times I thoroughly disliked her I did love how she matured & blossomed under Sophie's careMy honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Fantastic regency romance
As always Rose Pearson writes an entertaining story with vibrant characters. The hero and heroine are both very likeable. Enough tension and ‘action’ to keep your attention throughout. And a fab hea to tie in with the other books.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sophie Lefebvre accepted the role of governess to the Earl of Wycliff's sister Gertrude so that she could escape the pain of watching others have what she could not.Claveston St. John, Earl of Wycliff is a rude, pompous and arrogant man who only offered Sophie the position of his sister's governess as a jest. He never imagined that she would accept it.When Claveston met Sophie at his good friend's wedding he was smitten at first sight, he never imagined she would ever accept the position offered to her, but when she does he is determined to win her and to prove to her that he is the man for her. However Sophie will not make this easy for him as she cares nothing for the trappings of wealth and status, but when her freedom is threatened. Can Claveston help her and win her heart or will their differences prove too great?
