Ditch the carabiner
Bought this set to go magnet fishing with my 9yo daughter. We had a lot of fun finding random things and cleaning up the environment while we did it. The carabineer that comes with the kit is both not a great quality and also magnetic, so it sticks to the magnet. The quick link that comes with it is stainless so I ditched the carabiner and just attached the rope to the quick link. also because the magnet is shielded on the sides with the steel plates it is not as strong as some of my other magnets. Still had fun though!

Excellent power, not for salt waters
Rusts quickly even when rinsed after salt water usage. However, extremely strong magnet. First pull from water had 10lb dumbell weight attached..

Great for treasure hunting.
We used it to find a small anchor we lost, we found so many other treasures and trash in our lake. Best find was a very old horseshoe.
