Goodthreads Men's Slim-fit Tapered Selvedge Jean

These are dad jeans (stretchy material, roomy top block, roomy thigh, big pockets) disguised as trendy selvedge raw denim.They're a deep shade of indigo, almost black, without any pre-wear or distress marks , so I imagine they'll still fade like a pair of "raw" denim jeans. They are so soft, I doubt you will get sharp, crisp creases, stacks, etc. The slim-fit descriptor, in my opinion, only applies to the fit from the knee to the ankle. Definitely tapered mostly in the lower leg.I honestly don't know enough about selvedge denim to explain whether or not these are "real selvedge" or not. The selvedge ID is a thin ribbon of material on the outseam and sports a white edge with royal blue thread. The selvedge is so thin the ribbon on my pair is all wrinkly. I could iron them, but I don't care.Back to the softness - these jeans are SO soft in comparison to my limited experiences with RAW, RIGID denim. These feel down right comfy in comparison. Thin weight and stretchy.I paid less than $12 for this pair (check the odd size inseams) and wouldn't really be interested in spending full retail on them. These for $12 are a fair deal or better.STRETCHY - more stretch than I'd prefer - especially in the waist and top block. I will HAVE to wear these with a belt after ordering my "regular" size.

Absolutely killer jeans for the price - true to fit, comes in odd lengths (perfect for me as a 33L) and fit very close to a Levi’s 508 or now the 502 but an even better taper below the knee. A little more stretch than a true selvedge or raw but within a day or two they fit excellent. I’m curious to see how they hold up because at this price point I could be converted to them full time.So, a rave review and 4 stars. Why? The odor. I haven’t seen a lot of reports of this but the smell of these jeans fresh out of the bag is horrific. It’s like a mix of sulfur and sewer water. I can’t wear them in a confined space with recirculating air or it is suffocating. A car is out of the question.I’ve let them sit in the sun for a day and now I’m planning on a gentle hand wash with white vinegar to try and help with the smell. I assume that plus direct sun will do the trick but I’m hopeful future pairs of these don’t have the same odor because I’d like to add many more to my wardrobe.

These are my new favorite jeans and I wear them all the time now. Up until now, I've only worn Levi's in similar style (514s were my favorite). These jeans have become my new go to. For me, the fit is what sold me on these. I am 6'2", 185lbs with a 40in chest and 32/33in waist. I have very "athletic" thighs but skinny lower legs. I want to wear skinny/slim fit jeans, but it has been hard to find jeans that are the right level of tight in the thighs and seat, but also taper to be tight enough in the lower legs. These fit that bill perfectly and I am very happy to have found well fitting jeans again.The quality is on par with Levi's overall, but things like the zipper, fasteners, and belt loops are not as nice as Levi's. However, for the money, you cannot go wrong with these.

I liked the jeans. My only issue is it has a watch pocket as I wanted, but the pocket is a little to small. Other than that, everything else was great.It did come with a warning the black color will bleed onto other items.One issue I do have with them though is that I decided I liked them and I would order more. So I came back and clicked buy again and the price tripled in a week. I purchased them for $13, a week later they are $40, and now a week later they are $50. For this new price I can go buy some brand name jeans. I certainly won’t be buying no name jeans for that price! I originally gave them 5 stars, but once I found this, I lowered to 2 stars.

The denim is not as thick as Levi or wrangler, but not thin either. A very goof fit, durable and does what a pair of jeans is expected.Be confortable, be durable and can take work abuses very well.Come on. A $10 pair of jeans is the best thing about these. I recommend you try a pair. Wait for Today's Deals to offer them at a 50% discount. I got mine for $10. Thanks Amazon for thinking about our use, when you designed them. These are a great product, well made and I hop will give me a couple of years wear.

The dark denim fading has been very minimal. Now I say this is surprisingly great quality because for the price, I thought it would be low price = low quality since other selvedge jeans are at a higher price point. Definitely worth every buck. I don't know about now, or in the future, but when I purchased this, it was only available to Prime Members. I think I may have purchased this using the Prime trial so I think the jeans are worth the ~$50 price it had at the time. Is it worth it to have the price of Prime on top of that? Maybe. I like the fact that its plain and doesn't have the tag on the waistband in the back.

I have purchased other "Goodthreads" items of clothing in the past, and the same qualities I found in this Selvage Jean. They are soft, especially after the first wash and the color remains dark and with a handsome texture. I am grateful for the 31" length which other makers of a similar product do not often carry. In fact your product is perhaps the most comfortable jeans I have bought, and I've been through some fancy ones. I am just about ready to get an another pair. Do not ever stop making these.

April '21 update: Have to drop the rating at least a star. After 8 months of strenuous lock-down the jeans have started to wear through at the knee. I was interested in these jeans for the durability... and 8 months doesn't cut it.August '20 Not buying Levi's was a big step, but everything is great so far. Haven't worn long enough to really comment on durability, but they appear to be very well made. I hadn't noticed that the jeans have an "aged look" -- which I usually don't like -- but the fading was very subtle and well done. Only surprise was that the seam thread is dark blue, not yellow. Only negative was that the button hole was not completely cut, but that was a simple fix. I plan to buy again.

Los jeans lucen estupendo, la calidad es muy buena; se ponen más y más suaves con cada lavada. Son muy cómodos pues tienen algo de elastano, pero no demasiado para lucir o sentirse como deportivos. Es muy importante LAVARLOS ANTES DE USAR, si no lo hacen van a manchar todos los lugares donde se sienten y su ropa interior; se siguen deslavando hasta la tercera lavada, pero quedan muy bien, lucen aun mejor. Por el lado negativo, vienen algo grandes, tanto de la cintura como de largo, así que pidan una o dos tallas más chicas de lo habitual.

Purchased the 31x32. Nice denim, reasonable good cut, but way large. The 32 length is easily a 34, I bought the 32 so I could cuff them but they are so long I ended up rolling them over and they were still a bit long. Waist size was also large, by a size maybe 2. Amazon needs to get the sizing consist.

You get what you pay for.A good pair of selvedge denim will run you $150.These are about 1/3 of as good.Even selvedge line tends to fold over itself if you pin roll or roll up your cuffs.Stretch is nice... just pick up some N&F on sale and you'll be far more satisfied.

Siempre he usado talla 32x34 en varias marcas, pedí estos pantalones en esa talla.De largo quedan muy bien pero de cintura me quedan pequeños, los comparé con mis otros pantalones y la cintura es considerablemente más pequeña, casi como si fueran 30x34.Pediré unos 33x34 para ver si esa es mi talla con los pantalones de Amazon.

Deep rich color; thick, raw but not too tough fabric. Best thing is Amazon has 4 different fits and so....oo many combination of sizes; I finanlly chose the best fit for me & will stick with it for future purchases.
