can you open the door when not using the air con? thank you, does it stay as it is or do you have to remove it prior to opening the window door?

When not using the aircon, you can easily slide the vent kit off. We do leave ours there temporarily as we wedge it into the door track (then at night we collapse it down when not in use).

Anyone know if this would be suitable for a delonghi pinguino portable ac unit?

Hello. I purchased this kit in the hope that I could use my Delonghi Pinguino portable ac unit last year. The instructions given only showed for the 5 inch hose, with the 5.9 inch attachment Last year could not see how to use, this year have persevered and have finally found how to fit, albeit not a 100% close fit. Hence why gulgear include a sponge tape which I assume is to make a close fit. It is not perfect, but better than not being able to use the Delonghi Pinguino. Hope this helps.

I need to fit it in to a door that have opening of 225cm, is there a way to stretch it an extra 5cm ?

Max Adjustable Length 228cm so you should have 3cm spare

My doors are 230cm tall, can this be modified to cover the full length? This is the only unit I have found that’s close to the size needed.

Funciona perfectamente con mi aire LG

Lo utilice para instalarlo en una puerta corrediza de 192cm de altura, ya que el kit que venía con el aire acondicionado no alcanzó. Tuve que cambiar la salida del aire por la que viene en este kit (muestro ambas en la foto) y se adaptó perfectamente. Es un aire acondicionado LG modelo LP1419IVSM.

Good enough for a rental

This was a good value item for my apartment. It’s slightly better quality than the parts that came with my Frigidaire (plastic is slightly thicker) but suffers from the same issues like gapping and positioning in the sliding door. The adhesive brush strip is really narrow, I wish it was thicker but it’s fine. The adhesive came off in some parts, but it’s easy enough to tape back on and use pressure from the door to seal the whole thing. Foil tape also did a good enough job at keeping the parts in place. I’ll be taking it off at the end of summer and the price is good, so I would recommend it with those things in mind. I did need to use foam from my existing AC kit to seal the large gapping on the door frame, so keep that in mind. The kit would’ve been better if it included one or the brush strip was wider and the bristles were longer. Overall, I was surprised at the quality, given the price, but this is probably as best as I would expect for this price range. Before this I was using cardboard and duct tape, so this is a major upgrade.
