Arrow: Season 4 [Blu-ray]

Well we were pretty sad that we would have to wait a whole ...
We had missed out on several episodes of this past season of Arrow because our DVR didn't record them right. By the time we got around to going back and watching the show, we realized that they had expired from Hulu+ and even the CW streaming from the Arrow page. Well we were pretty sad that we would have to wait a whole year to get caught up on the newest season of Arrow. Then I remembered that Amazon sells the episodes individually. Thankfully we were only missing a couple episodes. I don't think that its really worth it if you have to buy every single episode as that would get incredibly expensive very fast. However, we were more than willing to spend $4 to see the first two episodes of the show so we could get sufficiently up to date and watch the rest of the season. As always Arrow is a quality show. The actors are amazing and I am really happy with where this season is going. I love all of the new characters that have been introduced this season and have even been happy with the spin off shows, The Flash and especially Legends of Tomorrow. I am very excited to see where this season goes and I hope to see more John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlin and of course the terrifyingly powerful Damian Dharke. I am also really interested in the anarchist character. The quality of the amazon streaming was very good. It was clear, sound was perfect. There is absolutely nothing that I could complain about. In the instance that I need to purchase another episode or two of Supernatural, I will be sure to get it from amazon because they are always reliable and I know that I will be getting one of the best deals for the quality out there.

Great Episode, Great Quality.
The first episode of Season 4 of "Arrow" is a great watch. The action is non stop, the hints of what's to come through out the season are several and dropped through out the episode. This episode sets in motion several storylines including one VERY jaw dropping story! I hate spoilers so if you don't want to know more about this episode stop reading now. ***Possible Spoiler Alert*** Not only do you get a taste of what's to come, such as the continuation of storylines from Season 3, you get further insight into storylines started in Season 1, as well as a the start of new adventures for the new season. The big surprise comes at the end of the episode in a 6 month flash forward. That's all I'll say about that episode. As for the quality of the episode, I am very impressed with the progression in quality High Definition content Amazon has provided. The picture quality is not yet true HD like you would get on TV, but it's getting closer to that level. Keep up the great job Amazon! The only bad thing about this that Amazon is moving very slowly on is the audio portion of its content. I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV and usually listen to TV Shows at a '25' level in volume. When I watch TV shows or movies on Amazon the volume goes up as high as '35'.The HD quality is getting better, but the audio issues seem to be the same as they were years ago. Hopefully Amazon can take care of that real soon.Overall, this is still a great episode with wonderful HD quality. You just might have to raise the volume a little higher, then you're all set to enjoy yourself.

It was also great seeing Laurel and Thea join Team Arrow
This season in particular I'll have to admit was a real curve ball in the show's lineup history. What particularly caught my attention was how Oliver stepped up his game by reinventing himself as "The Green Arrow", as his televised return to Starling City still stands as one of the most memorable moments of the show. In addition, the brooding darkness brought on by Damien Darhk was seemingly contrasted by Oliver's ability to rally the city behind him in his crusade against evil, which ultimately led to Darhk's defeat and the reaffirmation of why Oliver does what he does. It was also great seeing Laurel and Thea join Team Arrow, even if they both just stayed for one season. One of Oliver's greatest strengths is the fact that he's got loyal friends and family willing to back him up, as we all know he would (and has) give his life to save them if needed. Seeing Oliver and Thea fight side by side, despite Thea's struggles with the after-effects of the Lazarus Pit, was an incredible dynamic, as was his on-screen chemistry with Laurel (in a platonic sense). The only thing I wasn't too fond of this season was the dissolution of his relationship with Felicity after she found out about his son. Although I was certain they would eventually reconcile (which they did, as about two years later they finally got married and are now raising William together), I remember thinking this was just like Grey's Anatomy all over again. Alas, that is part of what makes this show so good, is its realistic portrayal of these classic characters. This of course means an equal balance of the good and the bad.

OMG
I have enjoyed the lighter episodes of late (clearly with one exception), especially the last episode of season 3 and the first of season 4. That changed radically in the week's episode (12-9-15), the midseason finale. After seeing the promo for the return of the show in 2016, I felt devastated and stopped watching tv--a rare event for me--because it was like getting hit in the stomach and I had to try to process it. I still feel sad and angry. I don't know for sure what is to come, but the Lazarus Pit has been destroyed, and even if it hadn't been, Felicity would change drastically. She always the cheerful, funny, nice thoughtful, sweet, capable, ingenious, able to call the team members on their behavior when needed, and a vital part of the team: she is the modern woman in the best sense of the term. I hope they will find a way to resolve this without killing her permanently. Oliver desperately needs her to prevent him from becoming the worst part of himself. I am surprised how deeply this has affected me. I have watched this show from the beginning, and despite how depressing it can be, I find the writing and the actors to be excellent in this show. If you like adventure, suspense, humor, and depth of the stories, I strongly suggest those of you who have not seen it to do the same.

Arrow Season 4, another winner!
As always, the season picks up and becomes very difficult to stop watching...until it's done and then the terrible predicament of waiting!!! Season 4 was just as good and full of suspense as all Arrow seasons have been. I love Stephen Amell's acting (well his incredible good looks are a great asset to the show too) and there's always Malcolm Merlyn to round off the show. As always Oliver's life is thrown into turmoil and the season ends on that note...."what next"? So, now I'm waiting for Season 5 to come out on DVD.

I had to wait a bit longer for this order to arrive, but it's nice to get a set of new DVD's without any defects in the disks. Thanks for taking the time in producing them correctly. As usual, the producers of Arrow kept our attention and always wanting to see the next episode. There were a couple of times in this last season however, when I felt that the makers of the series went a little too far in dramatizing problem after problem that "poor Mr. Arrow" has to face. I appreciated the uplifting ending to both the third and the forth seasons. It was nice to see some positive things happening in the lives of the characters.
