Price to quality ratio this is hands down the best you’re going to get delivered to your door in two days or less. From playing sports as a kid to staying fit in adulthood I’ve tried it all. My preference is grass fed whey protein isolate. This is usually PREMIUM price. Did that for a while. Shopped around because of price and found NOW. Tried it. Loved it. Been on it for a year. Amazing. One to one performance wise. Swapped from a brand that costs thirty dollars more for almost the same product offering with no noticeable changes other than flavor. I’ve never been one to complain about the flavor of a supplement/vitamin. I see reviews for other supps where someone complains about the taste of a veggie capsule?! Like, huh? You swallow it? It’s not candy or dessert. The main objective is get clean* protein into your muscles quick. Not taste like a dessert. That’s my opinion when it comes to sports nutrition. You make greater sacrifices to get / stay fit than the taste of a shake 1 or 2x / day. Vanilla is better than chocolate, imo. Mixes fine, no clumps. I don’t use a ball in my shaker. Travels well in zip lock bags for overnights (I mix single serving with one scoop of creatine in the ziplock for easy use on the go - little travel hack ;) it’s not cheap but also for what you’re getting, it’s a phenomenal value proposition compared to others on the market. Vanilla is my favorite but will do choccy if it’s on sale. I had to write this review, I love this stuff. Very versatile.

This is a high quality product produced by a long standing American company, known for producing a wide array of vitamins and supplements. I mix this in cold water and find it dissolves well, and the vanilla flavor is fine. There are no added sugars and the protein content is exactly what I wanted.

Taste is quite subjective so I encourage people to try this for themselves. The vanilla is certainly sweet but not disgustingly so, in my opinion. It does have a strange smell but I find the taste pleasant and easy to like. I mix this with unflavored almondmilk and have been quite impressed at how well it dissolves; other brands tended to clump unless my shaking was quite vigorous. The 1.8 pound jar is a bit silly, in my opinion. If your'e using two scoops a day, it will last you just under two weeks. Unless you are constantly rotating to different flavors, or don't like the feeling of being "locked in" with a larger tub, just buy the 5 or 10 pound size and save considerable cash. If you're doing Subscribe and Save, you'll want two of these 1.8 pound jars per month. A 5 pound jar should last over a month. When it comes to product quality, this one has been consistently well-rated. Although I've not seen it at the top of any purity/potency test lists, it is always near the top -- and I think that speaks volumes. In particular, I think the repeated ranking means that it is consistent and that NOW is indeed turning out a quality product that you can trust. I'm always skeptical when a new brand suddenly appears at #1, or when something that used to rank near the bottom suddenly climbs 20 positions. My advice is to try each of the flavors in the 1.8 pound jars before committing to the larger ones. The vanilla is decent. The chocolate is similar to YooHoo but a bit bland. Strawberry is coming in my next Amazon order so I can't comment on that. I've not tried unflavored, but I suppose it would be a nice addition to an existing smoothie or recipe you already have.

I was very hopeful that I had found the ultimate whey powder for myself. I wanted something that was 1) High quality, 2) All natural, 3) Free of unnecessary additives, 4) affordable, and 5) tasted good. Well, 4 out of 5 isn't bad. This is definitely a high quality powder, it has 80% less cholesterol than the GNC Pro Performance I was using, has ZERO artificial additives, and is very reasonably priced. The only complaint I have, and this isn't a huge one, is the Stevia. Now as far as alternate sweeteners go, Stevia is one of the best all-natural alternatives you can find. Unfortunately it has an aftertaste that can linger just as strong as an artificial sweetener, and the usage in this powder seems just a bit heavy-handed, especially since it does use some fructose as well. Personally I could taste the Stevia more than the vanilla. If you know you like Stevia as a sweetener, then this gets a 100% recommendation. If you are unsure, try out a stevia-sweetened drink from a health foods section and see what you think first. If you dislike the aftertaste, then do what I am going to do next time, and just pick up the Unflavored NOW Whey Protein Isolate and adjust to your own tastes. Unflavored whey powder is almost tasteless, and works great as a base for shakes of any flavor.

I like this product EXCEPT for the following: When I was ordering, there were four different sizes (weights) listed. I had previously ordered the 1.2 pound container to determine if I liked the product. Important to me was that it had no flavoring and no artificial sweeteners. I liked the product so decided to purchase another container, this time 5 pounds. I didn't realize it at the time but the larger container contained vanilla flavoring and artificial sweetener (xylitol). On the order page the two size options are side-by-side but they are NOT the same product. The smaller is no flavor or sweetener. The larger is flavored and sweetened. Thinking I was getting the same product as originally ordered, I ordered the 5 pound container (not realizing the differences). Two issues need to be addressed: 1) Amazon, fix your webpage so non-identical food products are not on the same page. 2) I'd like to return/replace this foul tasting, flavored product.

Ordered in an attempt to reduce monthly supplement costs. Should have bought the smallest size to taste-test, because (for me) this is one of the worst tasting vanilla proteins out there (bad aftertaste). I know others like it, so it likely varies personal to person. It also mixes very thin in water (but well!), so I'd suggest following the instructions of 8oz of liquid, and not more. Mouth feel is better with milk (I use skim), but I had to add some casein to thicken it up a bit. I've had some luck with 8oz water (or skim) & downing it all at once, so I only have to deal with the aftertaste one time. This is how I'll get through 10lbs of it, but I wouldn't buy this flavour again, even considering the cost! By the way, I did dump the majority of it into an empty (leftover) 5lb tub for convenience. That was helpful. My suggestion? Spend the extra money (per unit) to taste-test the smallest size 1st. I'll be doing this with the chocolate isolate next. Hopefully, that flavour suits me better, because the cost per unit is much less than other isolate powders! 10/15/25 - edited to add: I've been using 1.5 scoops in 8oz water every night before bed since posting this review, and I have to say, when drinking it all at once (not sipping), I'm starting to acclimate to the taste. It's not so bad! I won't mix it with anything else, but I think I'll be able to get through this large bag without issue.

The vanilla flavour is quite overpowering.

One of the better proteins according to US ratings I read...it works for me and compared to stuff you can buy in sports shops around Japan...well, anyone who's tried the local wares...you know what i'm talking about!

Shipping took a couple of weeks but is a great protein for a decent price, especially for an isolate. Mixes well and tastes great - no chemical taste. No complaints with the protein but probably won't order through here again though, just because of the shipping time. You can get it for basically the same price through other online stores where it will arrive in Japan in 3-5 days.
