Good support, good cushion, worth the purchase
I am coming back to running after a 2 year hiatus. I had a foot and knee injury, let myself get fat, out of shape, and lazy! I changed my diet, began a regimen of intermittent fasting, strength training, stretching, and hr-based cardio training and lost 35lbs. With the weight loss and all the training combined I have been able to return to running. I always loved running. I helps get my head in the right place. I don’t go quite as far and no where nearly as fast, but I at least I’m going. When you quit moving, you quit moving. I knew the shoes I chose would have to fit right while also providing the right amount of cushion and support. These shoes fit the bill. Now… I am only putting 8-12 miles a week on them right now. I am certainly not training for any marathons. Having done that kind of training in the past, I think these would definitely hold up, especially if you are more svelte. Negatives… probably the uppers. They are that meshy type fabric. It gives a little too much if you have to make lateral adjustment.

Well made, high cushion shoe with room for improvement
Extremely happy with the cushion on these things. Perfect for logging a lot of miles. Nice aesthetics and you'll never have to worry about chaffing on the back of your ankle as it's got a flexible, ergonomic material. Perfect for my high arches, these neutral shoes allow the foot to flex naturally (read not stability shoes). Room for improvement: I can tell NB tried to trim every ounce of weight and they did make an extremely light shoe with high cushion..... but the top is too sparse in my opinion. There's no insulation so run in cold weather and you will feel it. I would have sacrificed a little extra weight for some additional comfort up top in the tongue area. Also, the elastics straps that hold the tongue in place are a good idea but too tight. I had to snip them with scissors so my feet were comfortable. If anything I have narrow feet (6ft 175 lb) so I can't imagine it's comfy for many people. All in all I would buy this should again, it's very comfortable and 90% the perfect show for me.

Almost one of the best NB
Having previously ran with version v8 and v9 I had high hopes for this version since v10 fit was a flop. This shoe resembles the lastest version of the Beacon which I own and is one of the best fitting shoe from the NB line but lacks the cushioning for a long run shoe. So the V11 upper is very soft and breathable hugging the foot without any detectable hot spots. The heel is not quite the same as the beacon, a bit looser. But not by much. I am able to run without any movement in the heel cup. Because of the heel flair they are easy to put on ( I use elastic laces) now to the sole... the best cushioning ever for the 1080, hands down. Super soft.! Overall these shoes deserve a 4.5 stars. There is a quality issue inside the tongue of the shoe. An overlay poorly sewn where the tongue attaches to the shoe. At this price point I would not expect this. I shall say that it doesn’t bother me in any way so it’s just a finishing issue more than anything else. If the heel fit would have been like the Beacon I would have given it 5 stars. I will buy again

Great everyday shoes for folks who need more support
Since I've been spending most days in a desk chair in my home office lately (I mean who isn't, right?) I've developed some lower back and hip pain issues. I started forcing myself to take breaks and get exercise and that helps, but I could tell my old shoes and house slippers weren't helping any. My wife and father-in-law both have these shoes and swear by them so I decided to try them out. Thank God for Amazon Wardrobe because the size I thought I needed was definitely too big and the size I thought would be too small fits perfectly. I love the color and designs on these shoes. They're interesting and textured without being too gaudy. They look black and grey in the photo but actually present as a very dark blue in person, which I like. They are super comfortable and the level of arch support is perfect. My back pain is basically gone, and my hip pain is greatly diminished when I wear these shoes and move around more during my day. I'm not a medical expert (and will likely have to see one about my hip if this persists), but I can recommend these shoes to anyone else who is looking for a little more comfort and support during these odd times.

Usage on concrete floors
Pros - The shoe lasts much longer than other brands of running shoes that I have had. No toe holes after 8 month use. My brooks shoes generally get a toe hole in them no matter the style. These new balance shoes started to wear on my left foot on the front side, 8 months of use and abuse. - Great for walking on flat concrete floors for 10 hrs a day. It gives good heel and arch support for me. - Foam padding inserts held up better than competitor running shoe brands after much use. I’ve been through 18 pairs of running shoes in a decade. I’m very lucky to get more than 3 months of constant use out of a shoe. - 1080s fresh foam shoe met my expectations and I purchased another pair. Enjoyed the shoes so much I still wore my old pair of 1080s to not abuse my new pair. For me that speaks volumes about how much I enjoyed this shoe. Cons - the color and styles are okay. Haven’t had anyone show interest in my shoes. For me that kind of supports the mediocre style. - Buy when there is a sale. I’ve seen this shoe sell for $90-$140.

Great for wide feet, low arches
I have yeti feet; they're long, flat, and wide. I've been through a number of shoes and widths, but each made my feet, particularly the right, feel like my bones were being crushed in fire. I finally tried the men's 10 extra wide (I wear a womens 11 normal in pretty much all other shoes-- I am female), and these did the trick! They've got great cushion and spring that make jogging/running easier. I don't know if it's actually helping my joints, but it sure feels that way. I didn't have to break them in much at all, especially the heel. The unique design kept the shoe from rubbing on my heel from the first moment. As I said, I have flat feet. Not fallen arches, but genetically flat pancake feet. These are some of the few running shoes that don't force an arch. There's a little bit of support in that area, but if you've got high arches, I might suggest a Brooks brand shoe. They're by and large (ha!) the biggest shoes I own now, but they sure do make running less of a pain.

An improvement, in my opinion ...
I’ve had the 1080v7, the v8, the v9, and now the v10. I purchased size 10.5 4E in each of them. Other than the slightly small fit (but it broke in) of the previous v9s, I’ve been pleased with this line. Just got my v10s and put them on - absolutely perfect fit, good support, cushioning, and a good honest 4E width, which I need. These I think are the lightest 1080s so far - very comfortable. As usual, I take out the factory insoles and put in new Superfeet Copper Fit insoles for premium support. The combination of this shoe and those insoles keep me health-walking for a solid year. I don’t run in them, so I presume the lifespan is less with that kind of pounding. No complaints. 👍👍
