Very useful. It's better to buy 2 for wide steel sink. I put them side by side.

I use this saddle in my kitchen sink to protect the area between the double sink. It does a nice job of keeping scratches and marks from pots and pans off of the sink surface. It's made of a heavy and sturdy material that is easy to clean.

We've had at a dozen of these. They are neat and protect the sink well. They last for quite a long time, but stain if you keep them in the sink when washing pots & pans which have had tomatoes, red peppers or other very colourful foods in them. We always have a spare mat in store as they make the sink look very smart and are effective protectors. They don't really have "suction", but gravity keeps them flat at the bottom of the sink. I would certainly recommend them.

Brand new is really nice. Got one like it in 2009, when I remodeled my kitchen. I guess they don't hold up their clear color forever-my old one was a dingy yellowish color, saddle mat was as well. While the plastic holds up, be prepared for the clear color to go off after about 7 years. With my old one, dirt started to accumulate in odd spots at edges; bleach would not get it out. But, these mats are needed, especially when you wash fine china by hand, it helps cushion the bottom.
