Cheap and Easy! Perfect VCC for LPers
I have tried this with both HDMI and RCA and it works fine. I have three harddrives formated to ex fat (two 32 gb and one 1 TB) and it records fine and looks beautiful. I've only tested a retropie and n64 for recording so far but i'm sure my gamecube, wii, wii u,ps2-p4 and xbox will work as well! The file sizes aren't that big either. i don't have a shot of any hdmi recordings but i did a 6 minute recording off my N64 for my youtube channel and for it being in 720 (thats the best youll get with RCA) it's not over 1 gb like my last VCC was. It's also portable meaning I'm not limited to any one room of my house. Or if I got over a friends house I can bring this and we can record one mean session of whatever game we play

Sucks
This product worked great for a few days. Then I had an issue where it wouldn’t write files so I reformatted the drive and fixed! No! It happened again and then on further investigation noticed the sd card slot was misalligned and the USB port was. I tried to fix it but the product was so cheap it broke. Don’t buy

technically works
I got this with the hopes of using it to record HD video quality and be able to convert and transfer it to a phone or tablet BUT when i try plugging in HDMI devices it wont display anything, it does work if I use the component video cables that came with it but the video quality is much lower. the main reason i give it only 2 stars is that there is absolutely zero customer support.

Pretty Darn Decent for Price
I got this after trying another capture card that came dead on arrival. It was a bit of a pain in the ass to get up and running, but once it did, it recorded everything I put through the component cables and the HDMI port.It comes with the device itself, a USB plug to connect the device to a computer or the included power brick, and an adapter that can take component input as well as composite. Doesn't come with any HDMI cables, though, despite needing one for the output as well as a second for any HDMI input.I bought this in place of an Elgato because the price point for that was a bit too much.My biggest problem is ultimately first time setup. Plugging everything in is easy, but the disk that came with the device didn't have an autorun, so I had to go and find the installers myself. I didn't realize that apparently for Windows 7 computers I had to run a second installer, a Windows update, which meant that I had to restart the computer twice. But once I got it up and running, it worked like a charm. Minor artifacting and the color is very slightly dimmer on the capture, but it's pretty much what I see on the TV.Another minor flaw is that the encoding process means the capture output is about 1.5-2 seconds behind. The output into your TV has no lag, but if you intend to record using OBS, you need a TV or second monitor to play any video games. Plus, the capture card doesn't seem to work unless it has a TV to output to anyways. Also, some faint buzzing on the component cables. It seems to get drowned out when the source plays sound. While it doesn't bother me because I don't record with a USB stick or SD card, the manufacturer has admitted that the card's own recording feature inexplicably can't record past a certain size limit, and trying to do so will result in a corrupted file, so you basically have to learn your limit, then become a pro at timing with that limit. My recommendation is that you hook it up with a computer and record it with OBS, or whatever recording program you want, since you don't have to worry about the device's own recording system at all.Overall, works better than I expected. I used the HDMI from a Nintendo Switch and it worked fantastic. Used the component from a PS3 and that also worked fine, albeit with the buzzing mentioned earlier. Great quality gives it a 4th star, painful first-time setup and lack of an HDMI cable and crappy on board recording keeps it from the 5th.

Video Capture Quality Not Very Good
I purchased this device because of it's ease of use.I was hoping to use it at the Church I attend.I was Very disappointed in the video capture quality.I compared it to the Elgato Video Capture device we have been using. Results were not as good. Also, the first recording was damaged by the second recording. This is unacceptable.

Ezcap 284 is great and simple
It's a great game capture if you only want to record game play from your console. It's very easy to use. I can now use a remote to record and stop, unlike its predecessors. You don't need a PC for it to work and it records high quality as well in 60fps. It's not too pricey that it fits my price range. It's long lasting enough that I can use it while playing for hours almost everyday, and I've been using it for 6 months. The recording quality is great that I don't see any obvious pixelation, even when the recording has a lot of motion. The bit rate ranges from 12-14 Mbps. That's more than enough bit rate quality when I have to upload game play videos on YouTube. However, it has some flaws on its own. There are times that it fails to connect to the TV and display while it's plugged, and there are sudden disconnections for a few second even when it's not budged, but it rarely happens. It's not perfect, but it's still a great game capture.
