Fun for the child

While being a bit loud, me and my wife love this little guy. We call it Birdie. Make some noise, or bump the table it is on and it chirps happily, and makes us laugh and joke.We are in our 70s, and do not really consider it a toy, makes a nice decoration and adds life to our house.

I don’t understand “thickness” for this item. However, the bird chirps and the beak/tail move. The cage is flimzy, the top falls off with the slightest lifting, not able to hang it on a hook. It’s activated by sound, like clapping hands, slamming door, otherwise it remains silent. I wish it would chirp spontaneously at intervals even without loud noises.

As a joke I bought these little birds to go in an old bird cage my husband found. The birds were a little too big for it so I just have them sitting on my kitchen window sill now. They don't really react to sound or light, but they do react to movement and vibrations, like closing a cupboard or setting a pan down on the countertop with too much force. Then the sweet chirping starts up from these little birds. It's been fun to have them sing and I find my husband starting them up every morning. There is no volume control, but they aren't obnoxiously loud. When the grandkids come over they enjoy watching and listening to them sing. We haven't had any problems with them and they've been singing everyday for a couple of months.

I was so excited when this first arrived. Even though it looks like a parakeet, It has an impressive array of chirps more like a mocking bird. Onceyou turn it on, it would go thru it's paces with a pause in between Which I thought was a great feature, if it chirped constantly it would get on your nerves after a while. Well this morning I came out to listen to it and i turned it on and it chirped one set and just sat there and sat there and Ireached over and touched the cage and it started up, so that is where it is now, if you want to hear it chirp you have to reach over and touch thecage or bump the table but that is a pain. The bad part is that because it doesn't continue to chirp every so often, it is easy to forget about andyou would get up and leave the room with it still turned on. Overall, I liked it alot. The bird is life-size and the chirps are very realistic and clear.It is a good size: 5 X 8" with a nice hook on top for hanging. I am so upset because I already told her about it and she is very excited.I wanted this to send to my mother-in-law but now I guess i will keep it. I donot like the color of the cage and i think I will paint it with somegold paint and it will look great even though it is not.functioning properly. Hopefully I am the only one who got a lazy bird.

Purchased this for our parakeet, who’s mate passed away. This sat on other side of the room. Seems to bring him out of depression. It is quite loud. Puppy sets it off if she barks, hubby walks heavy sets it off, knock on glass door sets it off and door bell sets it off. Sounds fairly like a real bird. I’m buying another one for my daughters cats! 😆

Lovely little bird. Got as a gift for my 2 year old neighbor. She LOVES “Blue”.Bird cage is a little flimsy as she wanted to take “Blue” out of his cage.Sound is actually from the perch, not the bird. She wanted him back on the perch once she realized this.Clips come off easily. Told Mom she should hot glue the cage together and ditch the clips. Choke hazard. Hot gluing the cage together would make it sturdier for little hands put put cage off and on.Nice sound effects! Very realistic!
